Beautiful haunting music! You're making the farfisa sound like a synth with all those effects!

@RuslanKentawrus I'm glad I was able to see a translation. I suppose an electric organ could be classed as a type of synthesiser. Some synthesisers have organ sounds on. I have access to a meowing cat sound as well! I've even used it in one of my compositions! 😂 The sound is on a virtual instrument I have. I know about those four basic waveforms & how they're combined to make "Bigger" sounds. It's quite fascinating how synthesisers can sound like other instruments & sound effects.

great demo & performance! Farfisa … such a fabulous yet underrated organ! some of its models in the 1970s had great 'live' accompaniment capabilities such as semi-automatic-manual arpeggio or single-key bass and so on … can't find such great features on modern digital keyboards these days! me loveth Farfisa!

I always enjoy any recorded or videotaped example of a transistor organ and a Moog synthesizer being used together. And listening to examples such as this one, I further understand why a friend of mine whose attitude about combo organs was not too flattering took an exception to Farfisa models. It does bear some resemblances to a theater organ.

I'm back to listen to this again. Love it. So haunting and and eerie. That spring reverb doing it's thing and the way you make it swell with the knee lever (I'm assuming). Really nice piece 👏

Still today it's sounds like music of future; such a beautiful "synth" togheter with those notes

Yeah I don't know what those crazy Italians at Farfisa were thinkin' when they made this beauty, but I can tell ya I think it was a creative fluke they made an organ that sounded like something else incredible.

Obrigada ! Infelizmente a Farfisa não fabrica mais instrumentos musicais, na verdade eles pararam no final dos anos 1970. Eles agora fabricam apenas produtos eletrônicos para o lar.

Fantastic! Im probably gonna buy a Compact soon (not the deluxe or duo). Is there much of a difference, or can I get the same sounds as yours with it?
@TimOliver8 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid I have no experience of the compact. I would imagine though it would sound quite different. A lot of the character of this instrument lies in the spring reverb, which I don't think the Compact has. I could be wrong though. This link may help ... www.combo-organ.com/Farfisa/Compact/#Compact

Is the drum machine/sequencer type sound starting a third of the way into the video part of the onboard organ effects? Fantastic performance by the way!
@TimOliver5 жыл бұрын
revbrodiddley First of all, thanks for commenting ! The sequence is a Moog Voyager being triggered by an Arturia Beatstep sequencer. It’s just off camera to the right of the organ, you can catch a slight glimpse of it at the beginning of the vid. I had a very slow LFO applied to the dual LP cutoff frequency to give it some movement. So, no, the sequence didn’t come from the organ. Hope that helps ?

Please help me find the song in Who Killed Sara Season 1Ep8 time stamp 23:09. The subtitle says make up break up by Tim Oliver but it can’t be searched. This is the song being played in the background when Chema hosts dinners for family and Rodolfo and Sofia are sitting upset. Reply

Out of curiosity, was the Echorec from your other clip used on that?
@TimOliver9 жыл бұрын
Thank you ! No the reverb here is purely the spring reverb built into the Farfisa's own power supply. I think the delay on the Moog was a Strymon El Capistan Pedal. Glad you enjoyed it.
@TimOliver9 жыл бұрын
+Nicolas Therrien ..... Correction ! Just saw it in the info under the video. There is also a subtle UAD emulation of the Roland Space Echo on the Farfisa in addition to it's own spring reverb.
