Marge is amazing. She doesn't show up until we're 40 minutes in, and with the short time she has she catches the bad guys, brings most of the comic tone, and while she's at it, manages to completely take over as the protagonist. And all while 7 months pregnant. This movie is fantastic.
@amandadeloff42789 ай бұрын
Marge and Norm are couple goals. Love them! Also this is one of the rare movies where the main character's pregnancy is not the focus of the movie. It's just in the middle of her pregnancy. She doesn't give birth or lose the baby. There are no conversations about whether she can still do the job. Awesome movie!

From what I read, the only connection to a real life story was the wood chipper in regards to a man who did something similar to his wife. Truly hideous, not dismissing that. But yeah, the whole plot is otherwise completely fabricated.

I just figured that by now, even the people who've not seen the movie but are familiar with it - particularly film enthusiasts such as these two - or those people who haven't seen it but who are familiar with the work of the Coen Brothers, would know that it's NOT ACTUALLY a true story. I remember as teenager, after seeing it, I tried to scour the Internet for articles about the actual events, which I do for any "True Story" because I need the facts, not the cinematic fictionalized facts.

New to the channel, glad I finally watched this reaction video. I've been watching a bunch of Fargo reaction videos as it's my way of watching the movie for free. I avoided this video for a bit cuz the thumbnail made it look like ya'll were a bunch of goofballs, but this was actually probably the best one so far. You all recognized the actors & knew who they were, connected them to previous films, give credit to Roger Deakins, and have appreciation for the amazing & talented Coen Brothers. You also have an eye for quality cinematography, camera shots, & scriptwriting. Most of the other reactors I watched just didn't have very much deep level film knowledge and it seemed more like an average person watching a movie. This is what I like - seeing people who appreciate good cinema react to good cinema. On that note, more trivia - and a quote attributed to Roger Ebert: "When Gene saw a movie he really admired, he almost glowed. Toward the end of the screening of "Fargo," he walked over to me in the dark and whispered, "This is why I go to the movies."" I will he checking out your other content! But I will say, I wish you had looked up the "true story" claim at the end. No worries, they had us all going for a bit anyway. Cheers ☁️❄️

I love Marge so much. Her characterisation is just brilliant. She is shown so perfectly to have a great, logical mind, brilliant at piecing things together. Unphased by horrific violence. But is actually pretty naive when it comes to reading people. She is so logical she takes everything at face value, including what people say. I often see people comment that she was onto Jerry's bullshit right away and was just playing him, but I don't think that's the case at all. She really is still just going through her logical problem solving. The second time she visits him she is still just trying to track down where the car came from. She is blindsided by Jerry's sudden outburst because she didn't clock him getting increasingly aggitated. It's so good.
