Malvo keeps these tapes, not because his job is to kill or even to make money in the first place. He’s the great judge of all humanity. He constantly wants to remind us all that we’re just a few chromosomes away from our primate ancestors. And in turn, he constantly needs to listen to these tapes to remind himself the same on his grand mission.

@@raymondreaper2554 I mean, I definitely agree with you that he is indeed a sadistic psychopath. But there’s also definitely an intention on why he’s written this way. You especially see it whenever he talks about animals or evolution to people. Like when he asks Grimly why humans can see more shades of green than any other color. The answer he was looking for is that humans are natural predators who come from the jungle. And predators in a mostly green environment like a jungle need to differentiate colors to better find the prey hiding from them. He’s basically always trying to make a point about how close we really are to our animal ancestors.

I hated Lester far more than I could ever hate Malvo. Malvo was an assassin so it was expected. But Lester was cold and cruel beyond forgiveness. He heartlessly sacrificed his second wife Linda right after she told him her life story. It was the only death from any movie or show that I really felt sad for in my bones - still do. That said, some of the Malvo aura and scenes were just chilling. His cop stop is just a masterpiece.

anton is scary because hes pure psychopathy. scary look, weird hair. antisocial. lorne is scary because hes so puny and amicable und unsus. until he isnt anymore. both of them, when triggered, are basically unstoppable. anton, because he feels "bothered" and therefore considers anyone involving "accountable". lorne, because he's just thorough and likes to make a point that there are consequences to your wishes or actions. "lester....is this really what you want?"

I just Finished watching season one. When Malvo made the 'Garden of Eden' joke i literally thought his the devil for a second. Even the timing of him leaving that retournant just the moment the cop arrived felt just too perfect to be a coincidence. The man reminds of Johan. The way they sent him out tho was ridiculous. They made him make a mistake that contradicts his character, that he himself would never do in those circumstances just for him to get injured so some irrelevant character deal the final blow. Idk if season 2 will ever introduce such an interesting antagonist after him.

What mistake?The way I saw it is that he ran into lester again and he didn't really know what he had created, so when lester acted weak and scared malvo believed him.I actually think he could have still finished the job but out of respect and a sense of pride at what he's created he left.And when he gets killed by gus, there was no way to escape but despite the brutal pain malvo would be in, he still smiled because I think that he liked that someone he created ended him off.

I never quite understood what he was doing until he said "last time I had pie like this was in the garden of eden" in that one episode. I think he believes he's the devil, the snake that manipulates Adam and eve to sin. Which is why he keeps those tapes, a record of all the people he's manipulated into sinning.
