Would love more on this topic. Looking to clean up a farm pond my grandpa build with the county engineers over 20 years ago. It’s turbid beyond belief and has a ton of silt in the bottom. Papa says it used to be nearly 20 feet deep and now the max depth is 9. Should I start with aeration and structure or is it even salvageable? - Nebraska

Without being on location to assess the pond it's hard to say if it's salvageable or not. Most all reservoirs are salvageable, it just depends how much time, effort and money you want to invest. You could certainly start with aeration to regain some of the ponds useable water. Draining and dredging is probably the the most effective, but most costly way to regain the reservoir.
