I was in Italy a couple of years ago and the food was amazing. What I like is the food is simpler than in the US. Less ingredients but the ingredients are amazing. People used to the US Italian food may think the food is bland compare to the US but I disagree. The food is incredible

That was a Typical "Neapolitan lasagna" different from the classic Italian Emilian one, it originated during XVIII from the court of the King of Naples, the traditional one is compsoded by fresh ricotta cheese instead of besciamella, Neapolitan classical ragù souce( very different from classical bolognese ragù), small fried meatballs, sousages, provola cheese and sometimes eggs. Deliciuos and we eat it in Naples traditionally during Carnival celebration in February The white pasta was the traditional neapolitan "pasta al gratin" composed by fresh besciamella( no cream), provola cheese, ham and bread crumbs, it is cooked in the oven
