We hang some of our herbs from a wire on the wall, but my only question with this method is that some things take a long time to dry out and then they get dusty. I wonder if she ever has this issue? We end up putting some in paper bags instead because of this. Not as pretty though LOL

Hi Jill & Nat! Try spraying your aphid infested plants with milk! (One-to-one ratio of water and milk) the milk sticks to the wings of aphids and little fungus flies, they can’t fly so they die. Works like a charm! Living traditions Homestead just did a video on it a couple weeks ago. Congratulations on your new munchkin! Such a bunch of hard workers💖

This Grammie so doesn't have near that harvest!! I got maybe 10 green beans before the heat took the plants 110! Tomato plants began producing when it hit 111 and I did have to grab what I could before they split. Oh and forget the Zucchini! Great plants zero female flowers so gave up and last night chopped those plants down!! I do have two..get that TWO butternut squash that are maybe 5-6 inches long and I have been trying to pollinate when and if I get a female flower. My point? I can sure enjoy your garden and plants to harvest. At least someone will be eating right fine!!

So I grow almost exclusively paste tomatoes with one cherry tomato for fresh eating and sun-dried tomatoes. All I do is wash them off and freeze them, then thaw later for a really fresh tasting tomato sauce in the middle of winter. Just made sauce yesterday with two of my remaining four bags of frozen tomatoes. Also have a little garlic left over from last year and am harvesting this year's crop right now. It's nice when it works out like that. My second baby came right on her due date after a purposely bumpy ride home on country roads after seeing a movie - went into labor about an hour after getting home.

Ohhh Nathan can you share your stir fry recipe? That sounds wonderful!
@WhisperingWillowFarm
@WhisperingWillowFarm 26 күн бұрын
Stir fry recipe: Feeds 2 adults & 2-3 kids 1 cup of long grain rice or quinoa While it’s boiling, add tablespoon of cumin, tumuric, salt, and smoked paprika. In a cast iron skillet, sauté onions first. After 5 minutes add shaved carrots, green beans, zucchini or asparagus. You can really use your favorite vegetables here. In the winter we use broccoli or cauliflower. Sauté veggies for about 20 minutes. For the protein, you can use anything cooked to your liking. When I plate it, I start with the starch on the bottom, mixed veggies on top, then diced avocado. Last I will top with your protein of choice and chopped parsley or cilantro. Lastly I’ll add fermented beets or radishes for some zing. We’ve also used lime or your favorite vinaigrette for zing. Hope you enjoy - Nate
