Fantastic instructional video. Too bad about the sound. Hoping it might be better on the tv as apposed to my phone.

Ohhhh Jill, when you were talking about yourself from a couple years ago and deconstructing your personal perspective of yourselfs worth being from your work… me… then talking about doing all those momma things and feeling defeated and unaccomplished at the end of the day bc you didn’t supply income… that’s my season I’m in right now. Your words brought tears up in my eyes bc it feels like your talking about me. God bless you!! Your speaking directly to this momma who use to work and the Lord put it heavy on my heart to come home to take care of our kids.

Such a great vlog. Thank you!! I don't have kids but I'm a dog mama and work from home full time. This was still great for me! The reminders that we can do it too is helpful for me! Love that you're a Christian family also! ❤

I’ve really enjoyed your video since you guys moved to the old Roots and Refuge homestead. Beautiful bideography and content. Yes, I would love to have planner. I am a retired new gardener and am getting into the multiple season gardening and I would love to document my journey for my children to encourage and assist them as new gardeners also. Thanks so much for your hard work.

Lovely video! I love your knowledge. After letting the fire cider brew for a few weeks as you mentioned in your video….. I am assuming you strain off the liquid. How do you store the fire cider and how long does it stay fresh? Do you add honey to it? How much fire cider do you take?

Thank you for being one of the few videos about making money homesteading that doesn’t revolve around content creation!! I swear every video I’ve looked up has been “edit videos/ audio” “make a KZbin channel” “get advertising on your social media platforms” this is extremely helpful and informative!!

I can’t get my starter going. I try and try with the dehydrated starter I was given 100yr old Amish family starter and it just isn’t working lol. I’m a standard breads person and I’m not a “huge” fan of sourdough because I haven’t been given the opportunity to try it “well” and there is a serious learning curve with the starter. I’ve tried many ways people say and/or their classes and nada 😂

What an amazing team you and Nath are!! I love how you always make the time to acknowledge each other with a kiss or a hug when either walks into the room. Good role models for healthy family dynamics for the young uns in any family.

It is crazy that you guys are ready and able to do big things this soon after having little Ziggy! I'm so proud of you guys! Thanks so much for always making a video to share about your experiences, I really love them. The chatty videos are my favorite! I'm so happy that you guys had a great time at the homesteading expo! Maybe I'll see you at the Harvest Festival at Baker Creek next month?

Jill, Nathan, I am a social scientist, with a completely different life from yours. But maybe this take on work and family care aligns with what you said here: In feminist social sciences/economics it is very much established, that care work is the unpaid labour that ensures the reproduction of paid labour. While your case is different (because you are a business woman yourself) , this is exactly why capitalism is tied to patriarchy. It is usually women who are forced to stay home and do unpaid reproductive work (supplementing men), because they are penalized on a male dominated labour market. Their care work is not recognized as the hard work it is!!! You two are doing fantastic breaking both norms!!! Don't be so hard on yourself.

How do you sell your courses? Like how do you make the sales? I was about to do this too but when I realized how time consuming the sales part was I stopped. My mentor wanted me to do live streams to get clients to sign up for a sales call and it was very intense to me. I was not comfortable with that process.

It might seem like nothing, but the best thing I did for my work/life balance was completely blackout my bedroom. It obviously has a light, but the windows were covered, the walls were soundproofed, all the electronics were removed. No lamps, no tv, no noise, no anything. I take my phone to bed at 8pm on "do not disturb" and the alarm wakes me at 4:08am. If I wake up in the middle of the night, I can't see anything and mostly I just go back to sleep. Proper sleep makes everything so much easier. Obviously, Jill and Nate won't know much about proper sleep for a little while yet, but I hope some others with no little ones might see my logic.

I have used both lists and time blocking for a very long time. When I stopped working “ at a job” outside, I learned I had to set up my schedule. So I’ve done it for decades and am quite surprised to hear that other people do not do this. I have a more complex system - every 10 days on the Notes. The top list is what has to be done in those 10 days. Then list each day the appointments and the specifics for that day. That list will be ticked off at the end of the day. Yes some things do not get done. We also have been saying no to things that are not useful or meaningful to us. All great ideas indeed.

I am glad that you did a visit on this. You are an amazing family. Also enjoy the remark of including God in your day. Yes learning to say no is so hard. But it is so true. I am 61 and have the opportunity to have grandkids close. I try to make it special time. My desire to make your sourdough is a goal of something new I want to try. We have built raised green beds for next year. I am in a different season of life... Change is hard with retirement and health issues. But making to do lists is so important. Yes being a momma and all it entails is a job. Thank you for your desire to do good and educating.

Hi Jill! I just tried to purchase the bundle and it wouldn’t let me. Keeps saying declined, and I’ve tried several cards, all have available funds. Is there a glitch on the website?! I know this is the last day/hours to purchase, I’m just wondering if there’s any chance it’s going to extended because I’d love to get this bundle, but something’s going wrong with the site.
