In this video we are cleaning out the finishing hoop building and piling all of the manure so it can compost during the summer and be spread on cattle pasture/hay ground in the fall/winter.

Nice looking NI spreader. Must have been cared for. Looks like a model 214, single beater. I assembled many of those units in the 70’s. Good memories!

Enjoyed the video. I have a question. IDK much about farming, but would it go further if you put it in water than spray it in the field?

Depending on the setup you can do it either way. We do not have the facilities to use liquid hog manure because we raise everything on solid floors and outdoors. Their bedding and manure gets piled up, shown in the beginning. We then spread it dry and it will break down more out in the pasture. Normally you see hog manure spread as a liquid "Slurry" because it is mostly hog confinement farming in todays world. In a Hog Confinement building the manure goes into a pit under the building or into a lagoon which sits outside and collects water.
