I've heard horror stories of people hitting nested-down fawns with hay mowers, so the deer had me on alert. There was also a momma duck in the field that took off when I got close.

How wide is your haybine? I'm just wondering. Iv got a 1947 farmall m that I love. The only problem is our equipment is made for a 60 horse tractor.

This is a 7" haybine. New Holland 474. I wish the M was geared a little slower in first, but it seems to have plenty of power for the haybine.

The old M was just purring like a kitten . Dang your tomatoes have really took off ! Couple of questions how many acres do you have and have you mowed a fawn while cutting hay ? I heard stories from guys that's baled a lot . That deer reminded of what they told me .

Oh yeah. A 756 could pull a 10' haybine with no problems. That would be a nice match.

Nice vid. Haybine or Discbine? Never ran one but looks like a Haybine. Looking forward to getting back into haying in NH. Moving to place with about 12 acres in hay.

Thanks! That's a haybine. I still think haybines make the prettiest hay, even if they aren't as fast as the newer machines. 12 acres is a good chunk of land. That should produce quite a bit of hay.

The one thing that bothers me is the front wheels of the tractor running over the cut grass. Nice rig though, gets the job done and no $300,000 of debt.
