Ghost of Lucius Clay is a good man. Another Pa KZbin farmer I like to watch. Combine was a good buy I think. Like the auctioneer said if you got a few acres of oats, etc. there you go. Disk went at a bargain. Old fashioned auctioneer there walked with the crowd. I always liked that better than using the pickup. Been to a lot of auctions where the auctioneer walked and had the girl beside him write down the item price and buyers number. I am old enough to remember no numbers. They took your name down. Great video.

You made sound decisions. I carry a check with me. They charge too much around here for plastic. 3%. The Super MTA had 3 pretty big minuses. Tires, hitch and a rebuild. 205 needed some grease it sounded like to me. Good job. Nice 1086!
@ikonseesmrno73003 жыл бұрын
After suffering from cerebral flattus (put in 8 hrs loading & hauling manure today) & then reviewing my price guesstimates, I guess I didn't do too bad. I figured $7k for the SMTA & it went for $5100. That was a swing & a miss. Didn't know it had the hiccups & a pair of drag slicks on the back. Almost wonder if it wasn't running right because the distributor wasn't getting enough juice from an almost dead battery & that might not have been getting enough from the genny or alternator. The 4000 was a bunt. They bring about $4k - $4.5k around here in good shape. The 1086 was a good grounder that made it short to right field. My top end was $18K. A decent 1086 is bringing good money these days from collectors (really hate admitting it's collectable i.e. old) & people that are sick of buying factory fresh junk. The 205 did good. The results for those are usually all over the board. Same with the 203 when you find one. I like both & would have bid either up just to have one. The style doesn't do much for me, but the saddle tanks are what makes it cool. Also what gives it a low profile. Neat stuff! Now I'm going to hit the shower & the pillow. I'm so sore, my "OW!" hurts. :vD

Thank you for covering this auction. Went and checked stuff out the Friday before but went to another auction that was the same day. Guy had a little piece of paradise down there. Guess he was brother to the guy who has the flying w ranch right down the street and did the farming for the ranch. In my opinion the 1086 went for too much. Had a harder life than you think. Smoked pretty good and the 540 PTO stub was bent. PTO unit was taken out at one time. The yellow 303 hydraulic oil buckets they had along the lawn by the barn to keep people from parking in the grass was a big turn off. The gentlemans daughter kept the 686 and had it in the barn

Mountain top? Are you kidding? Those are 460/560 fenders, and they will bolt right on to your H. That's a 6 cylinder in the combine. Those distributors like your H has are aftermarket. Originally it would have had a magneto. The bid over the phone is a common practice. It's called proxy bid. Super MTAs are not what I call rare as hen's teeth. Over 21000 were built. Only 3006 Super W-6TA tractors were built. That 1086 brought lots of money on one hand and not much on the other. 2900 hours is not much for one of those.

A friend of mine has a tractor a farmer made by putting a TD-18 engine in a WD-40 tractor for farming rough terrain. Especially since they could have passed the cost on to the buyers. Laziness if you ask me.

@FarmallFanatic3 жыл бұрын
I was definitely gonna bid on it until I found out I had a 2 hour drive to get checks. I may be able to get you the information of the guy that bought it.

$900 for the 205? You could get that in scrap out of it.
@FarmallFanatic3 жыл бұрын
So buy it cut it up and haul it just for what you bought it for? It's a collectable, but like I said in the video...too far for checks

That wasn't even Internet it was some bogus phone call. This auction did not have Internet bidding
@LauraBruno333 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty new at this but that taking a bid over the phone doesn't sound right. Hmm🤔

I said 4500 to 5500 but I didn't see the rear tires but then also didn't know about the 3pt hitch so they kinda equal themselves out and I am still sticking with that price! And I thought about 14k for the 86 w/o knowing The hrs (I was thinking around 5k to 6k hrs)and I think that's pretty Fair but if the hours were original 17 is a good price!. Good choice on the mta 5100 is a pretty odd number for a phone bidder to bow out so chances are he was willing to go alot more
