imo the reason this season succeeds is because of the governor. S4 governor is the only villain in the show that is entirely evil, he lost his sanity completely and all he wants now is rick and co dead. since the governor is much more hateable, we start to really bond with old and new characters in the show. this is the season where i acknowledged beth's existence.

Probably my favorite version of Rick grimes. Everyone talks about season 5 Rick when he completely lost his shit but s2-3 Rick is my favorite. From his look, to how he still had a moral conscience but also wasn’t afraid to kill. And he just looked so badass. I dunno just feel this era of Rick isn’t talked about enough lol

While Alexandria has a good set of walls, the amount of time it would have taken to set it up, with the walkers being an issue, it would have been difficult, where as a prison already has a set of walls already built. Granted, this prison has a chain link fence, which isn’t really a good line of defense, but if it was made of stone, that would have been better.
