Hi, Jos! Great video, as always! ❤ The use if the mushroom powder really depends on the mushroom itself. Regular ones (can porcini be considered as regular? 😅) i use to sprinkle over rice as any other regular spice or use to make sauces. Mushroom powder has a very distinctive mushroom aroma, so you can use it in your dishes to give them mushroom flavor.

Ok that’s good to know. They had quite a selection of different mushrooms but I was tempted to try some powders but unsure how best to use in dishes. I really love truffles and the flavour and it’s currently truffle season in NZ so I might incorporate a mushroom powder with some of my truffles. Thanks for the ideas! 🤗

@@alisa-c2s I love the taste. NZ mainly produces Black Perigord truffles. I usually make truffle butter and freeze it so I have a nice regular supply of truffle throughout the year that I can add to a variety of dishes. 😋

What a fabulous market! I would go crazy and buy far too much, I live for them in the summertime. The chai turmeric latte will be amazing. I just bought a pecan tart from a favourite bakery on Friday.

I’ve been quite obsessed with chai turmeric lattes and have them everyday. It was such a lovely trip to Matakana Farmer’s Market and I plan on doing a playlist of all different food markets around Auckland that you might enjoy.

The smoked honeycomb was really distinctive and worked well with the blue cheese. I've never had a smoked honey before so it was nice to try out at the market. 😋 I'm quite glad I popped out to get a hat as it was quite hot in the end ☀️

@@josatkin I like the idea of the blue cheese with smoked honey. Think I'll try that. Upmarket grocery shop here I come!!(Again). Actually Waitrose might sell the smoked honeycomb or smoked honey off the comb itself. Thank you for the idea.

@@susanhayward2063 Yes I would expect Waitrose would probably have something like that. I'm unable to bring honeycomb into NZ from overseas as it's prohibited but I will see what options they do have when I'm next in Harrods. The blue cheese and smoked honey was delicious though!

That’s handy to know. I really like the colour and they look nice in my place. Really quite affordable too. I didn’t realise there was a separate Matakana village market next to the farmers market so it was a nice surprise.

@@josatkin farmers' markets are fun. I really enjoyed them while traveling through Italy and France. I got a few unique hand embroidered pillow cases there and some other interesting stuff. I wish you more lovely finds!
