This video/demo is great! I was thinking 18 originally but am now torn between 20x8 and shallow 20 open. I am looking for something fitting of delta and hill-country blues acoustic. Tricky. Thanks, Pete!

I think what gets me most about this video is the sound of the smaller bass drums. On my foot drum bass I personally noticed it sounds almost identical to my 18x14 bass except on the harder hits where it isn’t as loud and it’s more punchy. Overall though that 18x4 with a soft beater would be more versatile for many than a bigger bass drum as you could remove some of the punch but not gain it so easily in the big ones!
