Farmer on the Prairie is about my life on our central Illinois farm. My name is Seth and I am a young farmer with the desire to get things done and to keep the farm running smoothly. The farm is 740 row crop acres and 100 acres of pasture. We run about 100 grass-fed cattle and 1500 meat birds a year. Throughout my videos, you will get to know Dad, MommaD, and Sister. My brothers Josiah and Luke help us whenever there is a big project so they can feel important. Because so many different things happen on our farm, there is never a dull moment. I’ve always hated when we got a new feeder wagons , manure spreader, getting them dirty . But that was dairy farming back in the day.

The other thing I would suggest is to paint the expanded metal flat black. You will be amazed how easy it is to see thru when you do that. Cuts out a lot of the reflection.

I see a lot of people running grapple buckets on their skidsteers for manure. Im sure they are cashy though.

The first time I saw Eric in PA with his spreader I was very impressed. You will figure out how best to set things up. Heck, all I really remember about our either spreader with the horizontal beater was you were always getting big lumps getting flung out when the manure was very heavy or frozen. I grew up on a dairy/poultry (eggs) farm. We switched to a side delivery spreader because of the wet soupy chicken manure. the spreader was a long half round tank with a shaft running the lentgth of the spreader with weighted chains that spun around and flung the manure out the side of the spreader.

morning seth, I like the way the new equipment works, from the aerial view some of the big clunks kinda worked the spreader teeth, but it did handle it. You did another good job with the video. Thank you/ did you get up at five the next morning? you get it done.

It seems to me that with little bit of fabrication you can just put a bowdencable onto the dial for the chainspeed, no need for electronics. Or take the dial off the spreader, lengthen the hoses and hang it on the back of the tractor or something, seen it on other spreaders. Nice to have you back making video's, would be great if your sister would make her appearences to.

Maybe in the future you will be a little bit smarter and build a cattle shed a little taller so that you will be able to get a tractor and manure spreader inside the shed
