Diesel engines get their tacho feed from the alternator. Check the wiring on the alternator. That would be my first point of call.

Gee you game showing that work site Dave will get a visit from the work inspector the way he had the ladder on the timber and the gaps in that section of boards .big fines for that on sites if they get on there .

Check the alternator connection, small wire

Corroded connection or earthing out . Fuse might be old and corroded. Check wiring for any wear and loose connections

Some earth's connect on the inner wing behind where the rad sits. Fitting the fan cowl ,ay have disturbed them.

If it’s the same as a TD5 you’ve got two fuse boxes - one in the centre under the radio etc and another under the driver’s seat. Don’t know about the Puma. Not been that posh😂

Also, check every single fuse. I once had a gearbox issue on a Vauxhall Senator. Got quoted hundred of pounds for repairs. Then one day I noticed my headlamp wipers were not working. Turns out they share a fuse, but the icon was for headlamp wipers. Fresh fuse, and the gearbox is working again. So nowadays, no matter the fault, I test every fuse. I don't just look at it, I check that each one is working.

In your landy Ian, if the lights and hazards work then it’s not usually an earth issue. There is a second fuse box under the steering wheel - fuse 4p is ign live to the dash clocks Has that fuse popped?

Ford jaguar Land Rover… all the same stuff as you say depending of which dealership you go to depends on haw much you pay . Mercedes are similar a friend of mine had a Mercedes A class for a few years. I went to Mercedes for a part and they wanted a gold bar for the part .the mechanic i used informed me that the smaller diesel engines under 2.0ltr in a A class are Renault engines so i went to a Renault dealer and got the same part for half the price 😂😂😂 shocking

Well it is a ford engine after all! Just shows the mark up on anything that has a Landrover badge on it. A friend of mine who is a great mechanic, buys all his engine oil from ford at a fraction of the cost, and guess what…. It’s made by Castrol as well. 💷💷🛢️🛢️💷💷👍🏻👍🏻😃
