Bit of advice for the orchard. Clear 600mm circle around the trees and mulch up with straw or wood chip to keep the weeds down. Also remove this years fruit to make all the growth go to the tree. Great to see the other things going on around the farm , best of luck to you all

Oh Phil, I don't blame you for shining that camera on Liv. She is a fine partner for you. Love what you are doing. I am thinking that you might need a larger laying box for the chickens. With all the rain in your area, I am hoping that they have an area for them to get out of the rain. That nest box seems small for the chickens that you have. Thank you for the pig story. It was great! I was surprised by them going through the electric fence as they did. I thought that they would touch their wet snouts first and jump back, but... The pumpkin patch is awesome! I hope that you have a way to move the straw from the barn to the pumpkin patch. Those straw bales looked large/heavy. Liv: now I have to look up Tamworth--Wow! They are a rare breed with only 300 registered breeding females remaining according to Wiki. They are considered a bacon pig with high body mass without much actual fat. Ohhhh! That is going to be good. Do you still have the Dexter or has that gone into the store?

While Phil has not replied I will comment. It is not so easy now since Brexit. The meat will have to accompanied by an Animal Health Certificate. There will also have to be a customs declaration made and an invoice supplied to customs. Some couriers such as DPD have stopped moving goods between Ireland and the UK. I think that there will be issues moving minced beef or beef burgers. While meat is free of export duty it may be held by customs until duty is paid. Since the UK has left the customs union it has made things difficult for Trade between the island of Ireland and the UK as customs declarations are required. A lot of companies no longer supply NI from GB. I just got a quote for shipping goods from England to NI. The rate, including customs clearance has almost tripled. Similarly customs declarations have to be done for goods moving between Northern Ireland and ROI making things awkward for cross border trade.

You can't just buy pigs or cows for that matter? It's only a matter of time before they'll have it were breathing needs a license we don't have it here in the US but I wish people would keep the weeds under control we have lots of thistle and we spray them in every field but the people that just let there fields get covered reseed our fields and we end up spraying every other year. Phil you better watch those pigs I don't think you took enough precautions the gates they can get around and under the hot fence not so hot but once they get respect for it they will be good to go

Not overly impressed with that tipsy bin why don’t they put hinges on the lid for opening it and to keep it open at different levels!! With the way it is with heavy rain all would be wet inside if you were taken meal out of it!! Something that could be brought to the attention of the maker
