I never met Uncle Ian but I felt I have. He was a real man of the land and a pure gentleman. You Phil and the rest of your family looked after him so well and I'm sure he died as one proud man to be from such a great family.

Our condolences Phil to You and the Stewart family on Ian's passing. Like most here I only knew Him through KZbin and My favourite videos were the Q and A with your Dad and Ian. They were a great reminder of the hard work of previous generations that got farms to where they are today. This video is a lovely tribute and great to have it to look back on. 9:08 it was instinctive of that generation not to waste a blade of grass, most of us today wouldn't even see that. I have watched your videos all over the globe, Angola, Africa, Lisbon, Portugal, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and tonight in Covington, Louisiana, in the United States, maybe one day, I will get to watch in Scotland, where I was born and bread. Everyone can see, how important Uncle Ian was, and how much he influenced you. Without meeting you, I have no doubt, that this is part of the reason, you have become such a good person yourself. A very heartfelt tribute. The warm way you remember him is a great indicator of the kind of man he was. I always very much enjoyed the chats you had with your uncle and your father at the kitchen table. He always came across as a thoroughly knowledgeable man and a gentleman. Inevitably there was probably the occasional row as well just to keep things interesting, I look back on all those things with my own father fondly now, especially the blazing rows which in hindsight were fairly harmless. The hardest part I found was knowing that those things were no more. You can remember him fondly through the memories you have and the great video footage you have. Rest in peace Uncle Ian

Its impossible to replace the fountain of knowledge and experience that your uncle possessed. Thank god for the years that you did have with him. I always enjoyed the videos when ian appeared and showed a real team spirit when ye were all together.
