In the eastern Corn Belt region of the United States, grain and cattle farmers say they are dealing with 40% inflation, making this year one of the worst in recent history. Because of the war in Ukraine, both diesel fuel and fertilizer costs have more than doubled -- and that’s caused the price of food to skyrocket. Farmers fear that 2023 could be worse. We also sit down with Georgetown University professor and economist Nada Eissa to answer a question millions of Americans are asking: Is a recession inevitable?
