This is actually going to help our farming industry, kinda. When these tax loopholes were created in 1984, tax planners got their super rich clients to buy up farmland as a way to bypass inheritance tax. This caused the price of farmland to increase. When the loophole is closed/reduced, it will encourage more farmland to be used as productive farmland as the super rich sell up.

Agriculture is very important and farmers should be protected, they should be exempt from inheritance tax in my view, they are already dealing with increased costs for feed and fuel, and the fact that big business's always take advantage of them by using their bargaining power to buy goods from them at a lower cost while keeping most of the profit to themselves. Farmers are asset rich, but that doesn't mean they are rich themselves, a lot of them are struggling.
