Late to the game here, but a tip: Oil the bar groove top and bottom generously when installing new or new chain. If dry, the initial few seconds of wear will be great.

I received a G660 Chainsaw like this directly from Farmertec one week after ordering it and quickly unboxed it and it soon became apparent that it was not providing enough oil to the 36 inch Farmertec bar & Chain I purchased it with. I E-mailed the service dept. of Farmertec and they said it was probably a bad oil pump and offered to send me a replacement oil pump. I stated that they should send me another saw that worked out of the box and they refused and would not pay to install the new oil pump in the saw. So effectively no Warranty even for units defective out of the box! Then I tried another bar to see if it was a bad bar and the saw seized up. So next I asked them if they had a warranty station anywhere in the US and they said no. So buyer beware they do not know what a warranty is and if its bad out of the box-tough- they will send you parts so you can pay for repairs to a brand new saw!!!!
@DIYwithUncleCy5 жыл бұрын
Well most people like to read about what they are buying and NOT read into what they are reading. I went back and double checked they do not advertise a warranty anywhere that I can find in their add, so I am at a loss as to why anyone would presume that they have one. Also Farmertech saws are for people that like to, and/ or can work on their own saws, hence why they sell so many kits. And even having to buy a part such as an oil pump for a G660 (5.43 at the time I write this) plus shipping, and putting it in yourself it is still a better deal for this kind of saw than $1200 for an MS661CM which is the closest current Stihl model. So Sorry I just cannot sympathize whit ya on this one.

@@DIYwithUncleCy The reason he figured it was warranted is because it was brand new. They should have replaced the power head. His experience and comment and others like it will kill their sales. I have a feeling that stihl is probably suing them for stealing their intellectual property.

I switched the 36 in. bar to the 42 in. And I left the chain a little looser than the 36. It turns the chain with RPMs at about 7,000, but it takes 2 minutes to pull the chain 1 full rotation. Brand new saw, so does it need carburetor adjustment?

I got a holzfforma g 660. The first time I tried to started it it sounded like it was about to start for second but didn't. That was the closest it got to starting after 30 minutes more of attempts. A few days later I tried again with the same results. A few days tried for the third time. Nothing. I had a neighbor help the following week and he got it going. After 5 minutes of running it started to sound like it wax running out gas and it died. It had plenty of gas. As it cooled and I tried to pull the starter chord got it got harder and finally jammed. Pulled off the starter cage and it was about to fine. the fly wheel was stuck but was able get it to move .looked online and an article said to put oil in cylinder and let it sit for a few days. After two more days I moved then piston and was moving. Today I tried and it would not move at all. Does it sound like the engine is seized? Can't seem to find a way to contact the company. Both mine and my buddy Will's saws started on about the 8th pull the first time. Make sure the choke is on, you have to pull the trigger when you push it all the way down. After it pops once flip the lever to mid choke it should start at that position then let it idle for 30sec to a min when you pull the trigger the choke will shut off the rest of the way. I did have a G111 come to me that the linkage for all of that was messed up and I had to fix that before it worked. My other G111 had no issue when i got it. The thing about these saws is that they are meant for people that like working on their own machines since there are no US dealers as of yet.

No not at all. this was a rare thing that happened so they diverted the saw to me and sent the original orderer a new saw. By the looks of it during the transport across the Ocean they hit some rough weather and the contents of the box shifted, this saw got the worst end of it.

Don't know what a G72 is I am guessing the G372. I have heard mixed things about the huskey clones but the Stihl clones seem to have less issues. To be honest the issues with this saw are all packaging and courier related and no fault of Holzfforma. It runs fine, will need a little tweaking after break in, but that is always expected with a new saw. I do have a G372XP ordered so I will reserve my judgement for when it arrives.
