You can manage all the settlers as soon they accept your invitation. But you can't assign a person to a house that already has someone of the same sex. If you look on the management page bottom right of the 9 things. Firewood needed per day is 114. I go to Skauki on the last day of the season. If you go into the mine you can mine all the ore. Stack it at a central point when it gets heavy and watch the clock. Just before the end of the season. Fill your inventory with all the ore. It will teleport you to your home. Then just drop the ore on the floor so you can walk. The ore nodes come back every season.
