For most Nairobi residents, Karen evokes feeling of wealth and affluent. However, unknown to many people Karen started out as a farmland named after Karen Blixen- a Danish author. Her farm occupied the land where the suburb now stands. The coffee plantation would later make way for Nairobi’s growing population. Some residents though are turning back the hands of time.
