Farming Simulator 19 - Back to Basics - A beginners guide Harvesting Storing & Selling Crops - FS150

This video covers the most exciting aspects of the game the harvest. You have done all the other steps leading up to this day and now its time to reap the rewards of a good harvest. We cover the basics of the harvest process as well as how to store and retrieve grain from the bin and selling grain.
This video series will be broken down into 100 level videos, 200 level videos and 300 level videos similar to college course catalog listings.
100 level videos will be for the Farming Simulator beginning player.
200 level videos will be for those new to Farming Simulator but not totally new.
300 level videos will be for Farm sim players that might be looking to move outside their comfort zone.

I started playing 4 days ago. My experience so far has been awful. I bought every tank I could find for gas, but found out I have to fill them up. I still don’t know how, but I have now learned how to know the best place to sell my crops, and the best tools for the right tractor. Thanks to you, and I thank you for sharing, beings there is not good instructions in the game that I could find. I still need gas though.

Fuel is hauled using the fuel bowser under tools and then misc. Its filled from the fuel station. Given normal fuel usage I am supposed your in need of fuel after just 4 days. The default usage is so low they run for a long time.

you forgot to mention headland passes unless you are saving that for the 200 level. :) btw even though i have several hours of play in i am enjoying your format. when i first started i spent a lot of time learning to drive and maneuver equipment around backing ect. and learning the way around the map.

I was so confused as to why so much of it was going onto the ground... thought I was doing it wrong and wasting a bunch haha. I think it goes away eventually or you cultivate it and it’s gone? not sure

If your talking about the straw it does not go away on its own if you cultivate yes you work it into the soil and thus it then goes away.

Not with out mods. This series for the most part ignores the concept of mods to give an understanding of base game play. There are mods like Autodrive and Courseplay which would let you enhance the base game helper to do things like drive around the map in a semi automated fashion but they are for PC players only.

All back to basic videos should have been done on the base game map Felsbrunn. There is an option in the main menu to change the UI scaling I think I put mine at 70% maybe. Since its a % it should not matter the resolution but I play at 1440p and the recording for this series I think was then downscaled to 1080.

You could also mention that the headers have a purely ascetic function in that you can adjust the reels up and down and forward and back, with the J/N and K/M keys, on most cereal crop headers. It doesn't affect the game in any way, just an added bit of realism for us OCD players. ;)

Great video, my only question is about the header movements on the harvester. Does it make a difference as to how you have the header set, what is the best setting for maximum harvest output?

The header needs to be lowered. Beyond that no there is no optimal setting.

no, wheat chaff is straw and its good for bedding for pigs or cows or selling.

I once saw a picture in a help topic on a forum where the poster was asking why his combine wouldn't work. He had the biggest header in the game on the smallest combine. I had to look at the picture twice to see that the header was raised but it it was on the ground because the back tires on the the combine were off the ground. That header probably weighed almost as much as the combine.

Kind of yes. In real life its spread out on the field and then incorporated into the soil for next year. In game spreading it has no benefit.

harvest is the same regardless of what level you harvest them at. Think of it as how close they are to going to a withered state if you have that enabled.

IM sorry I do not understand. there is no place you buy grain from. you can purchase animal feed from the vehicle shop. The only place you get grain from is your silo and thats only after putting grain in.

No, you only nee to plow after corn, sugar beets, potato's or sugar cane.

pull a trailer up under the unload pipe and hit R on PC then select the crop you want and fill the trailer. repeat till you have emptied out the silo of goods you wish to sell/use.

The silo will have a pipe coming out of it on one end. drive under it with a trailer that accepts crops you wish to get and you will be prompted what to hit to fill on PC its R

If you unloaded wheat on the ground you have to use a bucket or belt to pick it up. if your talking abotu what comes out of the back of the harvester that is straw and you use a forage wagon or baler on it. those are covered in other back to basic videos.

The only crops that will regrow are Grass, Sugarcane (3 times) and Poplar. Everything else you need to plant again after harvest.
