@ellegeejay19 It's because one of the main beliefs of Veganism is that animals are not ours to use in any way. You COULD make a case with eggs, though I would do what these guys do. For milk, I don't see any way because cows milk is for cows - what's the calf going to drink? For milk to happen, there has to be a baby. Cows are like humans, they don't produce milk 24/7, they only do it when they're pregnant and "breastfeeding" (for lack of a better word).

I am sure that heaven is something like this! I will see my animal friends in heaven again, all the animals I grew up with, horses, donkeys, cows, pigs, sheep, geese, goats, dogs, turkeys, cats, rabbits, ducks and chickens.

u need a moringa tree in your farm. that would give all the calcium everybody there would need and more.

@Scoooobyful taking the calf's milk does bring up a concern. I know when I had goats, there was a substitute milk that the kids could drink. There's probably a same thing for calves. But yeah, I'm not a fan of taking away a baby's milk, now that you put it like that. Why should they drink substitute milk instead of us? I think the word you were looking for was "lactating."

I'm a vegetarian and this is a question for vegans and @farmsanctuary1. Since the animals are being raised in a great and humane way, why is it still not okay to eat their eggs? Same goes for milk. I personally don't see anything wrong with eating products from the animal if it doesn't hurt them, if it's from the ones you personally raise. (Hence why I'm veggie and not vegan.) Thoughts?

It almost makes sense. But it sounds like it would eventually create something like 'mad chicken disease' or something. Or is that far from a possibility already?

dariusdise mad cow disease happened because the cows were fed an omnivore diet i. e. meat derivatives and blood of their own species and other animals. Cows are herbivores not omnivores. I wont be surprized if dementia and alzheimer in humans is maybe for the same reason as humans are also herbivores.

but won't "breeding the animals' , mean "we want chicks to use and exploit"? to me that is what it sounds like, if it is breeding them. that the birds will mate on their own. that it is nature to let them keep it, even with the domestication that created a bird that lays more than normal. taking the egg, to feed back to the bird. it is a good thing. but if i take eggs from a bird to eat, "the poor thing is crying endlessly for her stolen children, even if they are unfertilized, the hen will cry and fight for her stolen eggs". so now, harvesting them to feed back is "chickens like to eat eggs too"
