My hidden camera caught it all and we finally know the truth of what took the groundhog. Im actually somewhat surprised. The creek property is full of surprises and now it looks like we may have a even bigger problem on our hands with stray dogs, pay attention to the photos and you wills see.

All i can say is how sweet you go DAD and MOM .I live on 70 acres in central Texas wish i had a full time creek. But i do have lots of Raccoons coyote bobcat and deer no little kids to share it with.Grand baby only 1 year. But it coming OVER 2000 CRAWDADS IN MY TANK.Great job

Tell Hope to bring a salt shaker with her for the leeches! They drop off when you sprinkle salt on them. Learned that at Bible Camp 57 years ago!lol💗🇨🇦

The creek is so clear with the stone bottom, so surprised that there are leaches. Our farm river was full of them and we would bring a saltshaker with us to remove any when we'd go swimming after chores. Oh, a crane; thought it was a heron or a stork. Love the lessons your girls are receiving from living your lifestyle; are they homeschoold?

We took our youngest son swimming a Greenleaf lake one year and he came out covered with leeches. At first I thought it was mud till they didn’t wash off!

Lol…my only experience with a leech….I was about 10 and we were camping along a river with a small beach. I came out of the water with one on my big toe with no idea what it was. I screamed to my dad my guts are coming out of my toe. Lmbo I felt dumb but never forgot what a Leech is. They are very creepy.

My husband and son do the Kool-aid hack, and it works great!! We are up here in central Illinois, and we're also getting ready for Oct. 1st season!! As I speak, my husband, son, and his two sons are at the property to finish up our creek bridge and shot gun deer blinds! Next weekend is our sons birthday, so it's Property Party time! Our daughter took her very first deer there last shotgun season. He was an awesome 14 point buck that was a real chore for her, 250lb+, 6'6"(former high football luneman)brother to rag out on the sled back to camp! They gotter done, though! A couple of years ago, we had our first ever Crawldad Boil Thanksgiving feast, and all 3 of the grandsons loved it!! Love watching your KZbin videos ❤

I miss catching crawdads when I was young! The buzzards are the clean-up crew! I live on Lake Apopka in Central Florida. The asprey brings fish to the trees in my front yard and drops the half eaten fish. Then the buzzards sometimes wait on my roof, waiting for the fish.

Some varieties of vultures are huge. I was driving through a neighborhood (a subdivision) and had to pass two vultures that were tall enough to look into my car window. Granted, they normally don't carry the carcass away, but they could.

I love watching your girls discover out there. I taught school for 20 years and took my students camping on the weekend a couple of times. Hope's wanting to catch crawfish and do a catch, clean and cook is so FUN! Now for the buzzards. We had a flock of about 7-8 live in the trees on our farm and the kids and us loved to watch them big birds.

That's going to be a great hunting area Dutch. I'm guessing the dogs around there, both coyotes and feral. It's hard to have that size property that doesn't have some nasty predators on it. Love ya'll ❤

My personal story. I had a coyote pickup and carry off a 28 pound dead raccoon that died near a trailer I had back in about 2008. It did not drag the body, it picked it up and carried it away. I shined a light next to a big bush and saw it's eyes shine green in the dark .The eyes were about 3 feet from the ground. It starred at the light about 3 seconds before it turned away and disappeared in the darkness.

The crawdads are great. Keep a small container of salt with you. Sprinkle it on the leech and they will just fall off.

Herons and cranes all eat rodents. From ground squirrels, chipmunks, moles, gophers and even groundhogs. So, for those with gophers in your lawns, coax a heron to your yard and no more gophers yay!

My guess would first be a coyote. Second, would be a bobcat! The water in your creek is so clear, just beautiful. When you said "look at the buzzard", I figured the buzzards started on it, but didn't think they dagged it off! That was just wild. Can't wait till deer season starts for you guys. I was surprised to see a picture of the Great Blue Heron in OK! That said, it's probably what got the ground hog. Not sure if there's a benefit to having them around. They will eat all the fish from your creek. Good luck with the deer!
