Hey Dutch Here’s the thing about baby poisonous snakes, they don’t regulate how much venom they inject. They inject all they have at once which makes them more deadly. Just a heads up!

I used to have copperhead and water moccasins, but my hunter cats have taken care of all of that! I have 23 outside cats, all fixed, fed everyday and have their own cat shed to live in. They are my hunters on our 21 acres! No mice no squirrels! And no more snakes!

Lucky you living in the country is just so wonderful. Here I found many stray cats, I started to fix them, my neighbors don't like them, they were having babies and malnourished. I found poison in their feeding bowl, my next door neighbor did it, he came into my property and did it. Some of the cats have disappeared, one of them was tied up from one of his legs and came skinny and with his leg injured from the wire or whatever they used to tie him up. I'm pretty anxious every day, I love to have cats around, there's so many iguanas and rats around here.

U do know that cats r the worse for putting wildlife on the endaged list. Mostly birds and small creatures like baby possums. They eat snakes even the bad ones. There's a night video showing a possum picking ticks off a wild deer. There is so much I could tell u about how nature will take care of most things. Owls r really good at this and raturels. Please consider letting your land go back like it should be. Here in GA. We have lost hundreds of acres to loggers. The wildlife will never be the same. God Bless thank u for your time

When I used to have a lot of property, I would get rid of the rodent habitat which would get rid of the Snakes. We had tons of Copper Heads and some Rattle Snakes. I cut down the brush and kept the grass short. This exposed the Rodents to the Birds, Owls, Foxes and Canines. With that predation going on, it pretty much wiped out the small rodent population. With no food source, the snakes moved on. I would keep any yard near the house mowed short to keep Mice away and that will keep the Snakes away.

Thats smart you know what you talking about, the snakes go where the food is, like you got fish ponds with fish lots of fish it attracts draws the snakes water snakes and the cotton mouths they can smell the fish and they come. One day you be like ain't got no snakes down here and then the next day or week there you go,you never know what might crawl in overnight while you sleeping.

Out in Arizona, we kept the venomous snakes away by clearing the property down to the dirt , then laying gravel down. Snakes don't like being out in the open like that due to predators being able to catch them. So it's good you are clearing the brush out.

Yes! That's why I also encourage the neighbors to let the harmless, black snakes live & multiply so that we won't encounter many, if any, poisonous snakes. (We've got 4 different kinds here & everyone's wary of snakes, especially living near a pond with rocky areas.)

It bit and killed his dog, just missed him...the dog saw it and jumped on it and the dog got bit, then my brother saw it abd killed it. Sean thank you from this country gal about driving the side-by-side, fishing, hunting, and trapping for your girls. It is always wonderful when fathers teach their children about farming, and machinery especially when the kids are interested in learning. My Dad did the same thing, from milking the cows, driving tractor, and some field work. (I hated smelling like manure, but LOVED the time spent with my Dad, and I was too much of a speed demon, so Dad was not satisfied with my tractor skills!) We also helped haul hay and straw bales, but my Mom said that was not what us girls should be doing, so Dad hired out to get the hay done.

We grew up with copperheads and never had any major issues. Even as kids running our acreage along with the neighboring farms we just always knew to make noise, not just sneak around, and any snakes would go the opposite direction. One neighbor went to get down from his tractor and luckily looked where he was stepping because he almost landed on a 6 to 8 foot copperhead. Everyone was shocked at the size of the thing. The shovel he carried on his tractor came in handy. He brought it around to show all us kids what they look like and it was the length of his pickup bed, this was before they made short beds. I live in NW PA now but this was in Beaver county south by about 4 counties now where I was raised.

Where you had the Forester mulch You should go around with the kids and pick up the field stones, they are great as border edging and other landscape uses. Free hardscape materials.

Several years ago I lived in Ocala Florida in a housing complex. My dog killed a pigmy rattler when it was coming into the house thru a very small gap on the side of the door. Man I had everything sealed up tight as hell the next day. I was fearful until I moved away.

Please make sure everyone wears hats or very carefully check their hair. Ticks can be in trees too. I was bit on the head by a Lone Star tick and did not receive antibiotics soon enough. I almost died from this tick bite.

Sean, go to time stamp on video 20:42 look in the upper left corner of video and there is a dog or coyote running over the pile of brush. It looks like to me there is a animal running through the brush that is what gunner is seeing 😊. Play the video a bunch of times you will see what I'm seeing greyish white body animal just one I saw😮.

It's actually a tree branch that you're seeing. It got my attention too, but then I slowed it down real slow and laughed because it was just a branch that is coming out of the tree.

You really need to get out there with some bright paint for those water spickets. A bright color would do wonders to keep from running the over. Have a good one, buddy!

Dutch, you have very capable daughters. Some of the most capable I have seen in many a long year! Challenge them. Make a deal with them that if they will cut the usable firewood on the ground you will haul it out for them with the Bobcat and teach them how and why land needs to be managed. We MUST pass our knowledge to our children or the world as we know it will end. Just my thoughts.

Where I'm living they get a lot of wild fires and I told some people you need to get rid of of the dead trees that were blown over during the winter storm bc it gives fire more fuel to burn causing a safety hazzard

Sean please do watch out for the snakes as for some reason I feel they are going to be bad this year. I've already got one on a black sticky trap in my home as about 7 inches long. Hope sure looked pretty in her Easter dress. Stay safe and Love y'all.

You should probably partially open the gate and set up the release and put the corn on the release so that when they are walking around the release and eating there they will trip it.

Speaking of sleep. We didn't get much last night. Neighbor decided to start about 10.00 pm to fertalize his land. They are behind us on 148 ac and up the hills. Large big noisey trucks moving in n out past our house. Then they sat with their lights shinning down into our windows. This went on till after 4 am.
