Lucky you living in the country is just so wonderful. Here I found many stray cats, I started to fix them, my neighbors don't like them, they were having babies and malnourished. I found poison in their feeding bowl, my next door neighbor did it, he came into my property and did it. Some of the cats have disappeared, one of them was tied up from one of his legs and came skinny and with his leg injured from the wire or whatever they used to tie him up. I'm pretty anxious every day, I love to have cats around, there's so many iguanas and rats around here.

U do know that cats r the worse for putting wildlife on the endaged list. Mostly birds and small creatures like baby possums. They eat snakes even the bad ones. There's a night video showing a possum picking ticks off a wild deer. There is so much I could tell u about how nature will take care of most things. Owls r really good at this and raturels. Please consider letting your land go back like it should be. Here in GA. We have lost hundreds of acres to loggers. The wildlife will never be the same. God Bless thank u for your time

When I used to have a lot of property, I would get rid of the rodent habitat which would get rid of the Snakes. We had tons of Copper Heads and some Rattle Snakes. I cut down the brush and kept the grass short. This exposed the Rodents to the Birds, Owls, Foxes and Canines. With that predation going on, it pretty much wiped out the small rodent population. With no food source, the snakes moved on. I would keep any yard near the house mowed short to keep Mice away and that will keep the Snakes away.
@Anthony-wz2on2 ай бұрын
Thats smart you know what you talking about, the snakes go where the food is, like you got fish ponds with fish lots of fish it attracts draws the snakes water snakes and the cotton mouths they can smell the fish and they come. One day you be like ain't got no snakes down here and then the next day or week there you go,you never know what might crawl in overnight while you sleeping.
@juliehagan38537 ай бұрын
Out in Arizona, we kept the venomous snakes away by clearing the property down to the dirt , then laying gravel down. Snakes don't like being out in the open like that due to predators being able to catch them. So it's good you are clearing the brush out.

We grew up with copperheads and never had any major issues. Even as kids running our acreage along with the neighboring farms we just always knew to make noise, not just sneak around, and any snakes would go the opposite direction. One neighbor went to get down from his tractor and luckily looked where he was stepping because he almost landed on a 6 to 8 foot copperhead. Everyone was shocked at the size of the thing. The shovel he carried on his tractor came in handy. He brought it around to show all us kids what they look like and it was the length of his pickup bed, this was before they made short beds. I live in NW PA now but this was in Beaver county south by about 4 counties now where I was raised.

Speaking of sleep. We didn't get much last night. Neighbor decided to start about 10.00 pm to fertalize his land. They are behind us on 148 ac and up the hills. Large big noisey trucks moving in n out past our house. Then they sat with their lights shinning down into our windows. This went on till after 4 am.

Wow Beth !! Sounds like you have some sweet neighbors!!😱 They are so disrespectful, uncaring & untimely neighbors. I hope you say something to him about this. It really was so inconsiderate of him to do that.☹️ GOD Bless Your Family 🙏🙏🌹 Love 🌻 from Apex NC 💜
