Nice looking job on a horse that was back on his heels when you started. 🐎👍🇺🇸

Hello, I also work as a Farrier in Korea. Then I started KZbin the other day. I have a question. What kind of camera do you use for shooting? I'd appreciate it if you let me know. Thanks

I use the newest android phone with a light mounted on it. What will really help your video quality will be having your helper or a friend hold the camera for you well you work.

very good video, can any one enlighten me on the point that the horse does not feel any pain at all once this process starts, i just wonder

A horse's hoof is mostly keratin, just like your fingernails. This doesn't hurt the horse anymore than a manicure would hurt you.

So, a question...and I admit upfront that I have little to no actual experience with horses. But I've noticed that in the farrier videos I've seen, the one of the first things the farrier does, is to clean out the dirt and manure out of the hoof before proceeding. Do the owners ever clean out the hooves, or keep the hooves as cleaned out as much possible? Or does dirt just pack up in there, unaddressed? Somehow I was under the impression that grooming included cleaning out the hooves regularly. Thank you, anybody who lets me know.

They do get cleaned out as part of regular grooming, but there will be more dirt and mud as soon as the horse walks somewhere else, so there's no real need or ability to "keep" them cleaned out. Picking out the dirt is more to make sure they don't get rocks lodged in there or get hoof injuries that go unnoticed. The farrier has to do that first to get the dirt out of the way for the rest of the procedure. :)

Those are some rough looking hooves. What's with all the grooves in them?

i always wonder, how often does a Hoof Smith get kicked in his lifetime? is it 0-10 oder more like 10-death.
