Father Alone suggests that only He knows what's going on, and we'll just stay brokenhearted, confused, and frustrated with no explanation or understanding ever. "Farther Along" (which is what the composer titled the song) says that God will reveal the reason and purpose of our struggles by and by. Two very different sentiments.
