Luffy and the Crew saves him while he is looking for Mr 3!!! ALSO: I'm a little ahead of in the show and I found out who Ace is! Something tells me that the hat he wears has a meaning! A good way to remember the name might be to think of the word Alabaster, or Alabama, and just replace the end with "sta" instead of "ster" or "ma". Pretty sure Oda named it after alabaster, which is a soft rock/mineral used for carvings and plaster powder. And yea, just when you think it's over with the 😭, that's when OP gets you. 😆

Love the reaction as usual! Btw, the easiest way to recognize each "arc' Is whenever they reach a new island. Sagas are a bit harder but, essentially, it's when they complete a storyline that is not contained to 1 island. Like East Blue was one Saga on the storyline of Luffy recruiting his initial crew. Then we have the Alabasta Saga which is the quest to save Vivi's country; which isn't the same as the Alabasta Arc which is only the episodes that happen ON Alabasta Island.

Love the reaction! Just wanted to clarify Mr. 2's name a little. It gets translated as Bon Clay, but it should be Bon Kurei, named after an Obon festival in Japan. The gag is that, every agent is a male female pair. A male number and a female holiday/day of the week but since Mr. 2 is an effeminate man, he is his own partner, thus Mr. 2 Bon Kurei, or as they have decided to translate it, Bon Clay.

The Drum Island arc is the first arc I read from the manga as I was a subscriber to Shonen Jump, a monthly magazine that used to release chapters of Naruto, DBZ and Bleach back in the day. I still remember the goosebumps I felt when reading the "will of D." panel. I was immediately hooked.

The thing about "Alabasta" is that because of Japanese sounds being a little open to interpretation, Oda has never been 100% consistent with how his names are translated to English. Even today - over 20 years later - we're finding out that we were always spelling some names wrong. It's a bit annoying but it keeps us on our toes lol

Bon-chan, Mr. 2 Bon Kurei, is actually based on Jim Carrey’s design in Dumb and Dumber. They count as both male and female as an Okama (literally crossdresser). Y'know it's easier if you just accept it. You _will_ cry. It's gonna happen again and again and again. You are currently in the Alabasta/Baroque Works Arc. You just left the Drum Island arc. The arcs are within the sagas. The first saga is the East Blue Saga and that covers everything up until they get to Reverse Mountain. That starts the Alabasta Saga. The Alabasta saga includes everything until Skypeia, so reverse mountain, drum island, Alabasta, those arcs are all part of the Alabasta Saga. So you don't have to worry about trying to name them. They already have names.
