I don't judge a man on his pedal board or multi-effects processor he uses like many others do. I don't care how strong his technique is, how fast he plays, or what styles. I don't care if he uses a guitar amp at all or simply goes straight into the PA/Computer/Mixing Board and gets what he needs back through the monitors. The measure of a man is whether or not he plays a strat, has come to love it's bell like chime above all others and owns a beautiful one with beautiful tone. After playing them for 50 years, that has to be the most gorgeous sounding and beautiful thing I've ever seen or heard. Please do a review and let us know where we can get one. I'm so jealous, I could spit. They must have a law at Fender against making something that beautiful.

Nice sounds! It seems awkward to have to press the footswitches for 1 second or more to be able to enable or disable an FX... I don't understand why it's sometimes immediate and sometimes you have to press for 1 second?

Hello great video!!! Is this unit thought to work well all in front of a classic amp without effects loop (i.e. Vox set clean) or it is more like the rack unit thought to feed power amps directly? Have you had the chance to A/B compare the sound with the Fractal Ultra II rack units? Any audible difference? Thank you

Great demo Brett. Is this thing easy to adjust onto fly? It certainly sounds great, but I wonder about how easy it is to adjust mid gig - that seems a good thing about the Helix. Although it's a lot bigger!

Brett, if money is no object and you wanted to choose between a Fractal Fx8, BOSS GT100, or Line 6 Helix, what would you choose based on quality of effects and user friendliness?

+Curt Sassak A fair and good question, thanks Curt. I've used the GT100 live and at home. It is a perfectly capable multi effects machine with all the necessary onboard hardware and sounds to get the job done at an affordable price. Also, you can pick one up at just about any music store in any country should you be on tour and need to replace one in a hurry. All big pluses in my book. The FX8 has travelled with me often and I can't fault it as an industrial-strength multieffect board. Fractal Audio's algorithms are supreme and the FX8 makes full use of them. Couple that with an almost mil-spec build, frequent firmware and feature upgrades and a killer GUI and you have a board that will serve you creatively and physically for many years. I would rue the day mine disappeared. Love it. Despite repeated attempts to reach out to Line 6 and their local distributor, Yamaha, I have not been able to try a Helix. Many viewers and followers of my Facebook pages have asked me to check it out and report back but the continual shunning (I can only describe it as shunning) by the powers that be have fully prevented me from getting even vaguely close to a Helix. So I have nothing to report regarding it except disappointment in the companies that handle it - which, I hope, does not reflect on the service offered to those who have actually bought one.

love the look of the fractal but I'm not sold, no offence to present users I'm sure you're ripping it. To compare the sound Brett was getting from demo of the Boss ES8 and various class act pedals he had on the board, it was awesome in tone,depth,and beauty of sound.
