Pete, that opening song was unbelievable. I love the gear demos, but your music consistently blows me away. This is some of your best work on a demo yet. Simply amazing!

Awesome Pete , I picked one of these up a couple months ago and my pedal board is now collecting dust . A couple things here for anybody thinking about picking one of these up . The wah-wah pedals are awesome , I set up a cry baby and the clyde on one of the banks and it's so easy to A/B between them . Also the harmonizer is incredible which I've never liked in the past but with the editor no problem to get it to sound like a second guitar or add a third guitar . Add in the ability to create sceens and or songs or use the looper wow !! I will always be an amp guy and this delivers , all banks pre/ or post . If you have ever owned a pod or a unit with an on screen editor then you will have no problem setting it up. It's not plug and play so be prepared for the learning curve ...wooohooo thank you Fractal and Pete Thorn for another great demoThis is by far the best processor I've ever owned

Hey, Pete! Awesome demo, man! You always come up with such original ideas! If you could, would you demo the Line 6 Helix? I would love to hear what you could do with it! I know it a different tool with a different intended audience than the FX8, but the two have drawn a lot of comparisons... Probably just because both came out around the same time, and because both are 'multi' pedals.

Thanks for the fun video. I'm learning so much, although I'm leaning more to a rocking chair than a rock career. It's a joy to see how you dissect this brilliant passage of music for us. ..........If I were a famous singer, I'd just get out of your way and let you produce everything. ..........Your sonic taste is the one aspect of your gift that can't be taught, and I'm not seeing anyone better out there.

I'm seriously looking at this and the Helix. I think for me the decider will be which one has the longest lifespan and support, which probably has me leaning towards the Helix.
@benfordguitars9 жыл бұрын
+Ashley Mann I think the FX8 is closer to the Line 6 M series, like the M13 rather than the Helix. Helix has amp models and FX8 is strictly FX. If you have a killer amp for the core tones (like Pete) then the FX8 or M13 would be the thing to get. I myself use the X3 Live as I dont have a amp so the Helix would be a better choice for me.
@davidespinosa19109 жыл бұрын
+Ashley Mann Line6: one firmware update *total* over the life of the product. Fractal: one firmware update *per month* over the life of the product.
@anxiousmindmusic9 жыл бұрын
David Espinosa their products are also superseded fairly quickly. I won't be spending that much without doing some more research though.
@denverbilyeu21729 жыл бұрын
Actually fractal products are superseded less than line 6, the fx8 has more than enough processing power to be updated for many years, the line 6 helix (which seems like a good product) is a response to Fractal audio, the dual processing, the way fx are routed are all inspired by the axe fx. I think both will last longer than the pod series before being updated since they have better processors. I prefer buying a product from a smaller company than a corporation like Yamaha.
