Fascia Board Installation | Stitching Fascia Board | By SHEMSS

The fascia is a board that runs along the edges of the roofline, it's the finishing trim for the roof overhand. The fascia board connects and caps the ends of the rafters giving the roof a smooth clean look. Besides the aesthetic role of the facia, the fascia also helps in protecting the roof from moisture.
Many materials can be used for the fascia, we're using a 2 by 12-inch wood board. And the overhand in this home will be 2 feet. We snap a chalk line along the rafters and cut them to size, then we measure, cut, and attach the fascia. This house has a long roof, and in our case, one length of the fascia board was just not long enough so we stitch two boards together... we show in the video how to stick two boards. Once the fascia is up, we paint it right away before the rest of the house is built.
