Why would you listen to *any* music through laptop speakers?! You should try listening through a high quality stereo, or decent DAC & headphones. I've "auditioned" speakers this way because it was impossible IRL, and while you obviously can't hear what they *actually* sound like, as long as the recordings/equipment are consistent, you CAN extrapolate real world *differences* between products, confirmed by my own (necessarily online-only) second-hand purchases and subsequent real-life auditions 😜 I would be fascinated to see if I could tell any difference had they swapped the CD player in this room with a cheap Denon, though. That would be *much* more difficult 😂

I was wondering if i would be bettet OFF using a digital transport for cd player going to a very very good outboard dac rather than buying an all in one , that way i would have lower noise and 2 power supplies instead of one , If i buy a high end cd/sacd player then i'm stuck with that internal dac no matter what

This isn’t for the average joe, a complete system like the one on the video will cost thousands of dollars. No doubt that McIntosh makes in my opinion the best sound systems for the true audiophile however it is just way to expensive unless you’re a doctor or lawyer making 7 figures a year or maybe if you’re going through a mid life crisis and blow $60 grand on a McIntosh system paired with four tower speakers like the ones on the video which will run you a nice hefty 30 grand.

dac inside notebook is very basic I upgraded to an external DAC made by IFI micro IDSD black label and after that big improvement to youtube music. I can either connect a headphone to the IDSD to listen the youtube music or connect the new IDSD to my existing hifi, very good result.

I don't care what awards this sax player won, if I had this cd, I would trash it. There is a mile between good sax players and great ones. The second half is much better than the first where he sounds as if he is mouthing out the words into the mouth piece. Search Harlem Nocturne and you will come across a really great sax player among the several you can find here. Oh, good cd player and amp though.

Wrong The speakers are the last thing the chain of delivery. The quality of your power combined with the quality of your CD player, reel to reel , turntable, combined with the quality of your speakers will determine an overall sound quality. A cheesematic amp run through $5000.oo speakers isn;t going to sound like this.

You don't understand what I'm saying so I'll say it AGAIN. First off -the speakers are the last thing in the chain -the sound signal starts from whatever device you're using to produce a signal -turntable, CD, cassette or reel -to -reel. What I initially said is that 10 grand worth of speakers will not make up for inferior chain of electronics.
