To me, Stray Kids has the accessible streetwear; NCT has more bold, more daring statement pieces. Both have fashion unique to them. However, I think SKZ and GOT7 took all of the red silk and velvet lounge wear in South Korea. Not complaining. Currently, Stray Kids Ex is on heavy repeat, but I do try to destroy my speakers with Double Knot and Miroh.

It's not really pirate inspired, I think it's inspired of Korean traditional clothing mixed with modern fashion. Stray kids break gender rules in their outfits I love it.

@Hello Stanger yeah, it's with the traditional aspect! i believe some of the tops on the traditional korean outfits are women's(?) especially with the way it's tucked in the belts! (e.g. felix in 5:11) edit: i wanted to edit this comment because i wanted to specify why i think this is the case felix is wearing what looks to me is a jeogori but while it's worn by both men and women, women wear it to be cropped(?) high above the waist (felix's outfit here is given that illusion by the use of the belts which makes it kinda more feminine). changbin (the one in the front at 9:16) is also wearing something similar, but with a men's nobleman's hanbok so despite being the same belted look, it's much more masculine because of his top. (for anyone curious, the robes they're wearing is called durumagi. probably.)

@@HopeeInk i actually thought about it, and there actually COULD be some pirate/vivienne westbook pirate collection inspo! george pointed out that they're similar because of the fabric used like silk and leather etc. silk is actually pretty commonly used fabric for hanboks especially royalty (during the oldd old old days like joseon dynasty it was more for royalty to wear silk/patterned silk especially those with gold leaf decor but now pretty much every hanbok are made with silk) BUT, leather is practically unheard of lol but they're much more common with pirates! so it maybe could be either a fusion or a modernization

Highly recommend All In for more streetwear fashion from them. And you definitely need to check out Stray Kids' red carpet and award performances looks from 2020/2021. Their stylists did such an amazing job with every single one. The MAMA performance especially oof *chef's kiss*

I love how the outfits are "made" to be wearable everywhere. Most music videos have extraordinary outfits but wearing them while performing can be struggle. I don't know if the concept is chosen by stylist or Stray kids put their ideas to it as well because it is visible how they love their outfits so maybe they chose it together or make it together?

the ornate pieces you were talking abt are actually modernized hanboks (korean traditional clothes)! their stage outfits for award shows for the 2020 awards season were also focused heavily on these modern traditional looks which i thought was super cool since they have such a giant international fanbase

Back door was awesome and by coincidence I've been listening to it on repeat for the last days. If you haven't checked out yet, I do recommend you to search for Key/Kim Kibum from Shinee. He's known for his fashionable choices and looks and I believe you'll enjoy discussing his style!
