The thing with VC booting Raja...VC knows fashion, especially 20th century fashion. But she doesn't understand historical references. Raja's style choices go beyond hemlines and a cinched waist. I love Violet, I've paid to see her live, she's my favourite contestant but I will say, her cultural repertoire is actual rather limited though she seems to want to make the opposite impression. I first noticed this when she was interviewed after a Prada show and said she saw a lot of John Willie and fetishy influences (when really I don't think John Willie was even a speck of dust in Miuccia's mind designing the collection). It shows here as well, not recognising Raja's as a rather obvious and strikingly accurate recreation of the Louis XIV silhouette, but noting that Trinity's look is Erté-esque. It's fine she has the things she likes, but it's getting obvious she isn't the cultured fashion historian many people seem to make her out to be.

I love, love that Raja is dressed referencing a baroque male this time, since she did Marie Antoinette/BAroque woman back in season 3.
