It's not like deeply philosophical but there is a level of depth to her references, and the reason she does that smile. Maybe a bit more like a psycho Latin soap opera beauty but still that same creepy effect from the shinning. That's why I was drawn to her, she's not just a pretty queen. She's full of a million references for all the looks she does. She's fully aware of them because she needs inspiration for when she sketches out her costumes and then has someone else make them. She's really thought about what character she's going to portray

Damn, Raja probably had to call the plumber for her flooded basement over Val's lingerie look, and I would've loved to hear what she said over that booty hanging out in the Madonna challenge. It's crazy, because outta all of the amazing looks Madonna's had, the only look half of season 8's cast came up with was the kimono......ok, back to Val. I'm not one of those crazy/needing to be medicated stans of hers, but I haven't seen a queen, who's, so much into executing their looks down to the last detail since, Violet and especially Detox on AS3. It seems you need to be familiar with Latino culture to be able to clock the references in alot of Valentina's fashion. I was surprised to notice Ru understood some of them. Like for instance, the lewk at 9:16 was inspired by the famous Mexican-actress & femme fatale María Félix, who was known for her love of reptilian prints and the hundred pieces of crocodile jewelry that she commissioned from Cartier. I agree with Raja that the eyeliner overpowers the look, but the rest is beautiful. It's not just a white dress, it's a corseted white pant suit that has been bejeweled & elevated with ruffles to add Mexican-flavor. Keep in mind that this wasn't a runway look, this is actually pretty fancy for a drag convention.
