The estate's expansive grounds feature meticulously designed gardens by renowned Belgian landscaper Jacques Wirtz, who is celebrated for his work on the Palais de l'Élysée and the Carrousel Garden in the Tuileries Gardens in Paris. Wirtz's landscaping philosophy of preserving and enhancing the spirit of the place is evident in the serene beauty of Château de Primard's gardens. Deneuve herself was an avid gardener, contributing to the lush greenery that surrounds the property. One of her favorite hobbies, gardening, is honored by a geranium species named after her, showcasing delicate star-shaped blooms of rich magenta.
Inside the chateau, the main residence is decorated in the splendid Directoire style, characterized by its classicism and symbols of liberty, equality, and fraternity from the French Revolution. The mansion features eight master bedrooms, a home cinema, a sauna suite, and a sprawling kitchen designed to exude quiet luxury and comfort. The interiors reflect Deneuve's refined taste and passion for collecting, with items chosen for pleasure rather than value, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Catherine Deneuve's collections of Provençal pottery, cane chairs, and vintage textiles are sprinkled throughout the chateau, adding a personal touch to the decor. In 2014, Catherine Deneuve decided to sell Château de Primard, and in 2021, hoteliers Frédéric Biousse and Guillaume Foucher transformed the property into Domaine de Fontenille, a magnificent 40-room suite hotel that honors the estate's history while providing modern comforts for guests. The hotel's primary restaurant, Églatine, is helmed by triple Michelin-starred chef Éric Frechon, who creates seasonally driven menus with produce from the garden.

At the 2:48 mark, the narrator claims the chateau is 1,300 sqft. which you can see is impossible. I'm sure he meant 1,300 sq METERS which works out to be about 4,500 sq FEET per floor. because 1,300 sq meters equals 13,993 sq ft. 'Just saying. It also might interest you to know that Deneuve came from a wealthy family, so she grew up around nice things and knew their value.

As people get older, they pare down their possessions. Deneuve pronounced DEUXNEUVE NOT Denoove, but the narrator is British. They pronounce many words differently. Her great taste obviously enchanted the two hoteliers, who saw all the possibilities & put in alot of money, time & work to turn her home into a luxury hotel/spa with a 3-Michelin star Restaurant. I'm sure the money was needed to keep up her lifestyle & pay for facelifts in NYC. At almost 80, she looks great & continues working. I would love to see a tour of her Paris apartment. I am a fan for more than 55 years. She had the luck to work with top notch directors & actors with excellent scripts. Her legacy will be everlasting as a beautiful woman and fashion icon; internationally celebrated, award-winning actress & loving mother. Her older sister, Francoise Dorleac, died tragically young in an accident. She was in the hit comedy, "That Man from Rio" with Jean-Paul Belmondo as well as in the musical, "The Young Girls of Rochefort." Gene Kelly & George Chakiris were also in the movie along with Deneuve.

I find it impossible to believe that this chateau is a tiny 1,300 sq ft as the narrator states. Maybe 10,300 sq feet. I also doubt that a master suite then is 7,000 sq feet as the narrator later states. They look like a small fraction of that. She sure put on a lot of weight
