My son can’t live with rice 🍚. I tend to cook 3 cups that way he has some for breakfast and the reset with dinner. If we have leftovers then I can freeze it. And use it on days when I want to save on time for fried rice. Your garden is so beautiful. Appreciate the update.

I am also from West of Scotland but now live just down the road from Josie. Cotswolds is not a patch on the West of Scotland in terms of beauty. West of Scotland 100% wins for me due to the countryside and seaside mix, plus the island views!

@@lynseycobden203 You have to remember that the famous beauty of the Cotswolds isn’t specifically through its natural landscape (like the west coast of Scotland), but through its *architecture* ; i.e. hundreds upon hundreds of perfectly preserved villages and towns built in warm honey-coloured Cotswold stone. Of course the countryside of the Cotswolds is absolutely wonderful too, but the gorgeous historic architecture of the region is without a doubt the standout feature (and why it is visited by so many tourists). There are plenty of areas in Scotland with a much more dramatic natural landscape by comparison, but certainly no Scottish region that can come anywhere even close to matching the Cotswolds in terms of beautiful historic hamlets, villages and towns.

@@tamaracarter1836 Yes, I also know this, as I live in the area. West of Scotland still wins for diversity of architecture. It’s a bit wilder and unplanned. I’m surrounded by honey coloured cottages and to be honest. Once you’ve seen one, you’ve pretty much seen them all. Most Cotswolds villages aren’t wildly different from each other. The gardens are beautiful though. Frankly, the area is a bit overrated and is getting more pretentious by the day. Wasn’t like this when I moved here. You are entitled to your opinion though.

The kitchen garden is looking fabulous - I think quite a few if your young plants didn’t survive this year because if the straw mulch you covered the new veg beds in - I think they suffocated a bit - I know you have removed most of it now - and am sure your veg plants will pick up now - ❤️

Hello Josie, Broad beans? They are best sown in November “Aquadulce” is the variety to buy, but you must keep the tops pinched out to avoid blackfly attack. The tops can be steamed as a vegetable, so no wastage, but left alone the blackfly will damage your crop. Hope this helps!

🌸🌼🌸 Good evening Josie, I always look forward to your vlogs bc of you just being you. Not all influencers are as authentic as you. There's a gentle peacefulness you bring to your audience. This is one of my favourite vlogs of yours. I mean, Lordy, none of us wear makeup all the time, so good for you. BTW, you don't really need it! I think it's so cool you did an interview about the book. Something interesting and unique....Keep that up! And at the end when you discussed your evening bouquet and mentioned the flowers you've had for 3 weeks and said it looks like "fireworks" ~ remember? Well here in the States we call it "Queen Anne's Lace;" it grows all over and is known as wildflower. In the UK, some call it "cow parsley." The name Queen Anne is in reference to Henry VIII's 2nd wife Anne Boleyn who enjoyed Lace making. Sounds prettier than cow parsley, yes? The plant is part of the carrot family and originated in the Middle East. From there, centuries ago it spread throughout Europe, UK. British colonists that settled here in the now States brought it with them & so it spread across N America. It has historically been used for medicinal reasons, which is why it was imported here. Tomatoes do best in pots. Don't put them in a bed with other plans or veg as they can get blight. And you need to use a special tomorite compost for them for them to be successful xx

The rice and pasta portions. My God! I get stressed when I look at the small amount of uncooked rice/pasta that I really need. I used to cook such big portions for that reason. I've figured it out...FINALLY! In Greece we are obsessed with saving fruits and veggies for the winter. I've already finished the apricot jam and cherry spoon candy. I will do watermalon and fig spoon candy later. Plus, we usually make tomato paste/sauce in air tight jars for the winter. We do love our tomatoes when we cook. Does anyone else do that? In the UK and everywhere else? I am so curious. PS: your chocolate car makes me happy
