Darlings thank you so much for your kind words and lovely comments on all the vlogs so far! Wood burning fires kick out a ton of PM 2.5. It’s soot, basically. It’s very bad for your lungs. It’s the same soot that comes out of diesel vehicles. Wood burners are nice but very polluting. I always notice my chest is congested after I light ours

Absolutely loving your vlogs, they are so festive, thanks for sharing. Listening to you talk about the air quality in your rooms, have you checked that your chimneys do not have any cracks/leaks? I’ve had this issue in my house our chimney was leaking into the bedroom above it, a fire two floors below shouldn’t really impact the air quality in your room? Hope this info is of use? A professional can check if the chimney is sealed with a smoke bomb and a carbon monoxide alarm can also provide some reassurance

Hi Josie you talked about the strong firewood smell in your bedroom. When we moved into to our house we lit the log burner downstairs but all of upstairs filled with strong smoke. When we had the burner removed we found that the fumes were coming into the rooms through tiny gaps in light fittings etc because the flu / liner hadn't been fitted correctly. Perhaps get the chimney / flu checked. Happy Christmas xx

Josie.... I can't remember if I told you or not but the beginning of your Christmas vlogs you and that red dress is just spectacular it looks like it was made for you. I give you a lot of credit for getting up so early to exercise when it's pitch black outside. But it definitely pays off because you have a great figure. I couldn't believe the size of that the dining room table it looks like it belongs in a castle I'm sure you'll serve some wonderful dinners there. I love those two little doggies jumping next to you on the couch they love you so much. Looking forward to your next vlog 🥰

You can get the local fuel company to top up the tank monthly then you don't have to remember to order it. Also go to said local company and you can use some plastic containers (they charge a small hire fee plus deposit) to get fuel from them - this will tide you over till the delivery.

In Vermont some of our older homes with the 1800’s windows use full window panes that provide the modern e glass that are put on over our older windows but do not cover the beauty of the windows. You put them on in winter only. It makes them as efficient as modern windows but doesn’t take away from their character. Also Charlie could go to get oil and put it in himself. 25 gallons a day will do.

Amazing Vlogmas as always! So sorry to hear about your oil, although having all the stoves going in a chilly house is very cozy and Christmassy. 🎄Just a note on the air quality - obviously smelling the smoke means that you are inhaling some of the particles so its not great but carbon monoxide is odourless and lethal. You might want to check your home insurance because normally it requires you to have a carbon monoxide reader in every room with a fire or stove. Either way its great peace of mind knowing that if anything went wrong the alarm is there to let you know (you can buy very small discreet ones or they can be built in to the smoke detector). Sorry for that downer! But we've just started using our stove this winter and safety's been on my mind! ❤

Absolutely fabulous video as always! Your vlogs just make my day every time! ☺️ Pro tip on the brow growth serum (you might already know this)- it does work AMAZINGLY well, but once you stop using it you’ll actually lose the new hairs over a period of a few weeks. No idea why, I personally experienced this and one of the ambassadors for the brow serum was talking about it in another video. Totally worth it to just keep purchasing refills though because it works great! 💖

Hope your water pipes don’t freeze before you get a oil. And yes your wood-burning stove is producing carbon dioxide not a lot of oxygen in the room if you have too much of the smoke going on. Be safe and do clean the air!

I thought I was going to freeze to death in Ireland when there were some cold days in the summer when I was visiting. The hear was on and I had plenty of blankets and was given a hot water bottle for the first time. It warmed me up for sure and I felt like this is what it must have felt like for my relatives before they had heating. The toilet seats were so cold. Coming from California I hadn’t experienced super cold toilet seats. I hope you get your heating oil which I didn’t know was still a thing. Might be time to go to La La’ s house or stay in her apartment on your property since it won’t take much to heat it. Or off to Straw Cottage since it isn’t rented for Xmas. Shockingly, Los Angeles is having cold weather for the next ten days and my heater has been turned off for 3-4 years in my apartment. I know it doesn’t compare to the cold weather in the English Countryside. Cheers, Josie!

Realness! I also use my teeth to keep my hair separated when styling. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one who does this. Hahaha but seriously. I haven't had a mince pie in decades but you make them seem so tempting.

The problem with your furnace oil Is likely solved by now but furnace oil is just diesel fuel. In an emergency you can get clean petrol carry cans and fill at any petrol station that sells diesel for cars. Also farm tractors often run on diesel so you could borrow 10 gallons from a neighbour. Remember to label the cans as diesel as you don’t want to accidentally use a diesel can for petrol or vice versa.

And PS. I have a similar dining table. Mine seats 14 if you’re cosy. Don’t worry too much about the inevitable marks from a drippy water glass, hot cup or warm casserole server. This will happen. When you get a white mark, take a hot clothes iron and iron a smooth tea towel on top of the mark. This will pull the steam out of the varnish and reset it.
