Except they ruined it by giving it away right at the beginning. The trailers hyped it up so well and then they didn't have the balls to go all the way. We know Dom wouldn't do that without a reason so they didn't have to explain why so quickly. Keep us wondering throughout the movie. Still enjoyed the movie though.

When Dom gave the man's keys back at the beginning of the movie and said, "Your respect is good enough for me." It seemed like an emotional moment, and I didn't catch it until now, but I think that's a throwback to the first movie when Paul Walkers character wanted to race and put his car on the line and wanted the cash respect in return. Brian said, "If I win, I get to keep the cash and I take the respect"

i always liked this movie but if paul was still alive the whole dom going against the team would’ve hit so much harder since dom and brian’s characters were basically brothers

I’ve always thought this. How much better would it have been with Brian leading the team and really giving Dom a run for his money. There probably would’ve been a more emotional punch putting the two leads of the franchise against each other. Just a what if scenario. Definitely haven’t enjoyed the movies nearly as much with Paul’s absence anyways

@@projectdelta50 absolutely. And I think that would’ve been the really cool twist on the plot and team dynamic it didn’t have in the original version we have. Everyone else seemingly assumes the worst and gives up on Dom besides Letty. Brian could’ve been that voice and the only one truly believing Dom isn’t evil other than Letty. Every time I rewatch Fate I can’t help but imagine Brian’s impact on the story if he had been charging hot on Dom trying to stop him but knowing there’s more to the story. His experience as a cop/FBI along with his driving ability would’ve played a cool role into them pursuing Dom and Cipher. Brian’s presence is definitely been sorely missing post Furious 7, at least for me. I just pray to god they do Brian some justice in F11

It probably wouldn't have been that crazy. If anything the whole ending would've been how Dom and Brian planned the whole thing and had been in contact the entire time. Its not like Dom actually double crossed them, he was just playing along

I'm sure you meant well. That is, however, incorrect. The Haka is a Māori ceremonial dance performed by both men and women. The dance was designed as celebratory, not an act of intimidation or war. New Zealand sports teams popularized it by performing a form of Haka in front of opposing teams. However, that is far from the origins. Some Māori people may even find that offensive.

Fun fact, all the cars you see while they're in Cuba are accurate. Back during the Cold War era they were under power of a Communist dictator and we placed an embargo proventing imports. Cars were under that, resulting in cars stuck in an older era, the factory paint colors were a lot more vibrant and varied then. 🤓

i love how Cipher is such a control freak and yet a brilliant villain at the same time best scene in the movie = when they try to hold Dom with the cables and they like "it's not gonna hold...ITS NOT GONNA HOLD!" it was a heat seeking missile so Dom tricked the missile into going tHROUGH the sub.

To Answer question about the cars Cuba because of the Cuban missile crisis had embargoes put on them which kind of locked them into the time period with the cars they had it is very rare for any new vehicles to come to the island outside of possibly military vehicles I think also the film crew beat the US embassy staff to Cuba as the opening part of this movie was being filmed when the US embassy was being reopened in Cuba and the helicopter camera that they had following the race at the very end in the opening race was one of the first times a lot of the people there in the city saw a film helicopter being used

People in Cuba don't have much so there are a lot of old things still around. its almost like they're frozen in time lol. Even things as simple as groceries, are hard to get and you gotta wait for hours to get some too bc of long lines. ANDDDD that scene with Dwayne and the girls in the field, that was the *Haka!💪*

The performance the soccer team did is called the Haka. When I was a sophomore in HS I played Football, I was moved up to varsity for playoffs and we played a school that was predominantly Samoan. They did the Haka before the game and I’ll tell you I was glad I didn’t get any play time that game. And yes they beat us. The next 2 years I was a starter and luckily we didn’t have to play them again😂
