I was expecting this flashback Street Race to be better then what we got. It was really great that we got to see the younger versions of Dom, Mia, Letty, Vince and Jesse, but Leon was the only person who was missing from this scene. I didn't like that they used muscle cars for the Street Race, they should've been using Tuner cars with the neon lights instead. The slow motion part toward the end of the race kind of ruined this scene for me, I don't think it was necessary and they were missing the NOS Button steering wheels. The song that they choose for the Street Race was perfect for Dom and Jacob, and the girl who played Letty did a great job nailing her characters attitude from the first movie.

@@TIT0BAMBIN0 that and the fact that this race may have taken place in the early 80s. Domestics we’re still stronger than imports at that time. Imports peaked in the 90s to early and mid 2000s. That’s why we see mainly tuners in fast and furious 1 because that took place in 2001

That would have been cool definitely, but during the early 1990’s which this race takes place in the early 1900’s according to the “lore” of the Fast and Furious franchise. I’d argue Neon-lights and tuner cars didn’t really make the punch until I’d say 1995 all the way into the 2000’s …so honestly it makes sense for them to be in American Muscle cars if you think about it. Dom will all of the sudden change that tastes into Imports when they start blowing up in the car scene and drives that Red RX-7 while keeping his Dad’s Charger locked up in a garage. I mean Jakob is driving a 90’s Foxbody Mustang which is brand new in the time period in this scene, Dom’s using Buddy’s old Charger and NOT any of his own, and who knows maybe this was just mainly an American Muscle car meet 🤷🏼‍♂️ to explain everyone else seemingly driving 60’s-90’s Muscle Cars. Who knows
