Do you want to speak fast English? Are you ready to move from book-based fluency to true spoken English confidence? Do you wonder how Americans speak fast English while maintaining their English comprehension? In this lesson, you’ll get to see a movie clip and then follow along as I break down the reductions and linking that gives spoken American English its unique texture. In order to speak fast English, you’ll need to train your brain and voice to think about English in a way that’s likely different. And then you’ll need to practice. When you turn this fast English lesson into a tutoring session by repeating along as we go, you’ll begin to master the sounds and pace of American English. Let’s get started!

Rachel! Excellent class, of course. Your introduction could be a little bit more short (by illustrating the order of the class with a diagram, perhaps), first. Second: empower each student (you´ll learn , by example, separate parts full of sense in any phrase, so you can communicate more efficiently in AE). 2,71 M subscriptors; congratulations!

Hi! You may want to work on your articulator (lips, tongue, jaw) flexibility. For American English you want to avoid tension in the movement of your face muscles and find an effortless quality to the movement. Here is a video playlist of some exercises that may help! kzbin.info/aero/PLrqHrGoMJdTT3d6hNj7GkHFlpHSArrhlR

Hi Rachel. As always, that is a excellent lesson. I`ve been following your videos and I`v realized that studying pronunciation by wathcing your lessons is bound to boost my speaking skills. That being said, may you help me? The phrasal verb: poiNTinG Out. Can it be spoken like: poininAu? I`m not quite sure how to pronounce words ending in ING followed by a vowel. Is there a lesson on this topic? Thanks in advance.
@rachelsenglish
@rachelsenglish 4 жыл бұрын
Hi! You want to link directly from the NG sound into the following vowel or diphthong sound in this situation. It may be useful to practice holding out an NG sound, and then link into a vowel - just to practice this. Like 'NG-AH, NG-UH, NG-OW' etc. I don't have a video no this specifically - but it's a great suggestion. Thanks for the comment!

Hello Rachel! Good to see you! You have a great view from your window! Thanks a lot for the lesson! One lady from the movie clip talks rather unclearly, in my opinion. Rachel ! Help me to understand ! please ! in the sentence: 24:24 "I mean, why don't you do it with Nick ?" specifically in "DO IT WITH NICK" It seems that "IT" has not been pronunced, just "do with Nick"

Many people find it a fun way to learn, but it's an option, not a requirement.

The results are quite noticeable but only if put more practices like noting everything down, imitating what you’ve just watched and recording yourself in front of mirror . It really work. I do watch two videos per day. Recently, my neighbors were asking me if I’ve ever been to US🇺🇸 or Australia 🇦🇺. Thank you,Rachel

Hello, Rachel. First of all, LOVE your videos. I have learnt so much from them. I have a problem in my pronunciation when it comes to pronounce /S/ sounds after /th/ sounds and vice versa. My tongue get stuck in on sound and I can't move to the other one quickly. Can you, please, help me with this? Do you have a video that I can watch that teaches me how to pronounce these sounds together? Thank you!

@@rachelsenglish Love your videos. I am an ESL teacher and they have helped me help my students. Question-in this video it sounds as if this is not the first in this series of Fast English. Is there something that comes before this one?

I think my English a way better Now then it was 8 years ago, when I just moved to English speaking country and I had to start speaking it every day. But anyway I watch such kind of lessons on KZbin almost every day and I guess Its for my great benefit of keep improving. Is here anyone with better grammar then mine? If yes please correct my above comment to look better and put it down. Let's share your variation

Your comment is pretty good grammar-wise! There are some word choices that I think a native speaker wouldn't use, but it makes sense, so I won't correct those. Otherwise, here are some minor errors: I think my English *is* way better *now* *than* it was 8 years ago, when I just moved to an English speaking country and I had to start speaking it every day. But anyway, I watch such kinds of lessons on KZbin almost every day and I guess *it's* for my great benefit *to* keep improving.
