This movie rocked my world as a kid dude. It’s so epic and the reunions felt so earned. Honestly since they were thieves in the other movies them robbing a drug kingpin kinda made sense. Everything after this is just absolutely bonkers!!!! And I love it bruh. Also this is the last time Roman’s character actually has any coolness to him as well. I like the Rock as much as the next guy but it wouldn’t surprise me if he was the one who started the beef. Also based on your talk about the spin-off you guys should watch the unofficial first F&F spin-off, Torque. It’s about motorcycles and it’s great. Also Ice cube is in it.

Ya'll are obsessed with the sweat, and I get that it's obvious but dude... he's a huge bald dude, all muscle, in full tactical gear in Rio (humid and like 80F+) either running, fighting or in high pressure environments... how could he NOT be sweating a ton? I get the other characters aren't in similar situations so it is clearly a choice by Dwayne/production but I think it fits. I personally loved that detail for the character. It (along with the overall look & accent) made him unique. Hobbs is a giant sweaty bald aggro muscle man warrior, probably juiced up on roids... it's perfect. Besides, maybe he (Dwayne or Hobbs) just sweats a ton. It be that way for a lot of people. No need for all the "WTF IS UP WITH ALL THE SWEAT?!" and "EW HES DRIPPING". Feel bad for the people watching who do sweat a lot and struggle with it.

One of the reasons why this film is considered to be the best of the series is how much this heist means to the characters. In the previous movies, there was little stakes, although there was motivation. But here, the stakes are at their highest and the characters are in real danger. Add on that this was the uniting of almost every single character (minus Sean and his crew from Tokyo Drift) in this one film and changing from a race car series into a heist thriller, it had something to offer. Plus, the stunts and action are amazingly well balanced.

I absolutely love that the movie cuts AWAY from the race where Dom & Brian win the Porsche. I know a lot of people were like “why cut away?”…. Well the point was: you fucking know they’re gonna win the car! They’re five movies in; there’s no real question as to whether or not they can win races and cars. You even see the montage of the crew testing different cars through the obstacle course. So you know that these guys can win races, no problem. I love that the ONE race that’s in the movie is literally just for fun, and between the franchise’s best drivers, and all in the same vehicles. Tip the hat to how the franchise started, but acknowledge that they’re evolving passed it.

This is my favorite F&F movie and it's not really close. Yes some stuff is fantastical but after this movie it switches over to "we need to save the world" missions and taking their insane moments and cranking them up to 11 which breaks the little bit of suspension of disbelief I have while watching these movies. I love Hobbs in this movie but not really in the others because Hobbs becomes watered down after this movie. This was arguably Dwayne Johnsons best performance behind 'Be Cool' in terms of actually playing a character who isn't just 95% him. I agree with others that if it wasn't for these movies printing money and being a fun time this would have been the movie to let the series end on.
