This is nothing new. I’ve seen this at “Checkers” like 2 or 3 years ago. (not all the “Checkers” had it, but there was one in Orlando that had this, and this is before I even heard of the term AI. (So I did not know if this was a computer or a real person, whose voice sounded very much like a computer voice).

That's voice-recognition software with a finite number of preset answers. This is AI software, meaning you would theoretically be able to hold conversations with it and its answers are newly generated and not predetermined. AI is relatively new and most AI models only started coming out in 2022.

This Checkers drive-through didn’t just give me pre-set answer. it heard my responses, and responded back based on what I said. & I was even able to change my order on the fly. Now; if I came across this today, it wouldn’t be shocking because everyone knows it’s AI. But back then I was like: “How can somebody have this computer voice?” & “What the heck is going on? it was kind of freaky. & then when I drove to pick up my order at the window, and speaking to the actual workers there (that spoke broken English) I was like “What the heck is going on?”

Well, someone better clean and sanitize those robot every 4 hours. If the robots broke down, it will be easy to sue as there no human witness to how hot the food as robots can handle extreme temperatures and then there foreign object maybe the robot can detect that but it couldn't detect moldy and expired food yet.

I’m kinda glad that Ai is advance enough to do this job. Human errors due to lack of knowledge and understanding the communication is the real problems. Most of the time, the person who’s taking my order doesn’t communicate well enough to understand my orders. I received the wrong food and they refused to deliver it to me when I went back inside the lobby. They seem weird and unfriendly to serviced. As long as the robot do it correctly every time, that’s it matter.

The services at these restaurants are getting worse and yet they demand to get paid more for not being professional or do their job correctly. @@dtxgmoney fear mongers have been saying this since the Advent of industrialization. Farmers used to comprise 98% of the US population, now they're just 2%. Did all those erstwhile farmers just sit around and die off? No. Their labor was utilized elsewhere in the economy where they would be more productive. If a machine can do a job faster and cheaper than a human being, then it makes no sense to keep a person in that job. There will be structural unemployment in the short run but in the long run it spurs economic growth and improves efficiency, which benefits everyone.

Right now, because they're not going to have to pay them at all soon, and they won't have to pay for workers comp or anything else that would be associated with human employees. As a former restaurant manager, I can understand both points of view. On the one hand, you don't have to deal with employees who are rude, slack off, or call out sick when they aren't. On the other hand, a computer can't understand accents, or words that are pronounced in different ways. It also would be "confused" by special instructions, or variations to menu items. Technology is great when doing research and even then, it has it's limitations but I DON'T like speaking to a computer like I would a human. Computers can't process emotions and let's not forget that they can break down and when that repair man has to come in, their pay is lot more than the salary of a human worker. If there is a glitch and the computer gets the order wrong, or multiple orders wrong, chaos can result if no human is around to correct the problem. Computers are not the solution to every problem. There are pros and cons.
