I own a Martzcraft 35. Good boat. Not the fastest but great cabin, easy to sail.

I got a good impression of the type. As you say roomy living quarters. I loved the after cabin. How did you find the cockpit size? It’s a shame this one had been neglected on the hard for so long.

@Dawnraider I find the cockpit a bit small, yet I feel very safe. You can't stretch out and sucks on long passages. If I were to buy a centre cockpit again, the boat would need to be significantly longer. That being said, all lines come back to the cockpit, so I never have to leave to reef, etc. It's also a bit of a pain in the arse getting behind the wheel. This is the only negative and by and large the things I like out weight this.

Yes, a few things. Fast Forward was written off. I toyed with the idea of buying back and fixing and then thought better of it. Just as well as the damage is beyond fixing.

OK like everyone else I am confused. On your last video you were in Gosford awaiting the outcome of the insurance claim which had been received by them as well as the surveyors report. Your now looking at a Martzcraft 35 and then went to Bundy to get all your gear. The only conclusion I can come to is that the old boat is an insurance write off and your looking at a new boat OR the insurance claim has been rejected and its to expensive to fix and cheaper to buy a new boat. Hopefully its option one.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. The boat has been written off, but with that comes the option to buy her back for a nominal cost and then do any repairs myself. I was investigating that option, but decided that I would be better to cut my losses and more on to something new. As it turned out, when I talked to the shipwright, he said the damage was too severe to even consider making repairs. So, I will take the insurance money and start afresh.
