Regarding Pancake Creek; The beach on the Eastern side, i side, used to have a massive lemon tree about 50 metres behind the beach. The lemons are/were enormous, grapefruit sized. Almost sweet enough to eat like an orange for most people. I don't know if the tree is still there, but coastal cruisers used to stop there to resupply citrus. The Eastern headland is a fin walk,. although very sharp volcanic basalt. The rock pools used to have living coral in them, almost like natural aquariums. The coral seemingly surviving by the waves refreshing the pools regularly.

I probably should have also told you that Rod's Bay is crawling with mud crabs. A dozen different professional operators work it.
