Wow, this one brings back memories. I had a 1972 Dodge Charger, with EVERY single part built or rebuilt. It was an "all iron" build. I used a 440 "hour glass" water passages block out of a 1970 mobile home, bored out to a 472". The factory "904" cylinder heads that were decked and ported and polished. Nascar valves and rocker system and a new at that time a hydraulic roller cam. I also used a cross ram intake, with dual 780 cfm Holly's on it. 700 HP was a big deal back then.... Now? not so much...lol Torque was the name of the game with my car as well. At that time it still used torque bars in the front suspension. Factory disc brakes from a truck mounted all around. Dana 60 rear axle and Nascar shocks. There was no such thing as big inch wheels back then, so I used 16" centerline wheels 50 rears , 40s in the front with "BFGs" tires. A 8 point roll cage, anti fire system, Autometer gauges... Mine did have a radio/cassette with 6 speakers. No "beep beep" horn, I used two air truck horns and two standard MOPAR horns that made people jump in front of the car. She was painted "HEMI" orange after two weeks of sanding. I have to tell that guy that he did good. The way of the muscle car will never die. T.

AWESOME looking Bird! Simply astonishing car! (I spent $800 for mine.) Put the pistol grip back in. Funny fact, that pistol grip could be EASILY removed, but you needed 2 sets of feeler gauges. Slip a 20 thousandths gauge, on either side of the base of the shifter handle, and it could be pulled out of the shifter. Insert a Comp Plus handle in, and you have 1 inch from first to third, and 3 inches from first to second. My 383 A833 would leave a blank spot, on a 1 to 2 shift, you could cover, with an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper. That was with the Comp Plus handle. steve
