The difference is that she was later picked up by Cypher and is in ICU at C's Headquarters. Mr. Nobody will tell them in a little bit. Cypher is really working for him as a double agent to go after her Brother Chip Knigthingale. (CK) And not only did she not really shot Elena, she also told Dom about what was really happening with Han and Deckard Shaw. And Elena was working with Hobbs who is working for Mr. Nobody. So she was also told by Cypher what was happening and that she was working for Mr. Nobody without knowing it. Sorry, but Giselle was kidnapped by (CK) and Han will have to go rescue her. (No doubt in a Hobbs and Shaw movie.)

So the F&F 7 closes the Han's story and at the same time he receives justice when the villian is captured and sent to prison. Obviously all that changes with they did F&F 8, Hobbs and Shaw and now the 9th movie and bla bla bla...
