It seems like everyone Can cut their hair and it grow longer and faster than mines, even though I’ve never cut my hair and I look after it. EDIT: when I say never cut my hair I mean never big chopped. I do get trims but not as regular as every 6 months. UPDATE: I’m getting a trim in a weeks time and plan to get one every six months to see if that helps me

And maybe that's the secret? Regular trims or cuts spaced out, say twice a year? I'm trying to find a curly cut stylist to assess my hair. Been natural fir years and take care of my hair but hardly put a scissor to it. It started tiny dusting, moved up to cutting as least as possible, then to 1/4 in 3x a Yr, and my hair grwback with a little bit more length. But I think i need a real good cut to take me to that next level. It's time!

When I big chopped it grew super fast (October 2020). I swear it grew an inch a month🤣!!! All I did was leave it alone. I think that's the trick...i didn't manipulate it; didn't put it in twist/braid outs, knots, protective or whatever styles. I didn't stretch it either. Just left it alone in whatever afro it formed.
