Fast Otis gen2 Traction Elevator @ The St. Louis Science Center - St. Louis, MO

(4-29-21) This is the other main elevator in the St. Louis science center. This one was added in after the Dover elevator. This thing is incredibly fast and efficient! This elevator was installed in 2004, so this is an earlier gen2. It also has series 1 fixtures.

My childhood elevator🥲Very impressive you managed to get a nonstop flight on this thing, because it’s this one and the ones at Water Tower Place in Chicago that are notoriously busy Also, with the exception of it being a fast traction, this looks a typical Sears glass elevator, especially at South County Mall- I even imagined if a Sears store was built like this with this exact elevator, but sadly with Sears being gone that dream has died I’ll stop now😅 Sorry it’s just I’ve always been FASCINATED by this elevator, on the sense of ‘Why haven’t more like this one been installed?’

Never heard of an Otis Gen2 elevator with Series 1 fixtures. I usually see them with either Series 1, 4, 5, or 7 fixtures. So that must be a rare find.
